The most important issue which stopping you from achieving anything you want

Hello guys,

I am a big believer in such things as brain and mind power, mental strength and so on and I am always very interested to watch or read all the info about how to improve my life using my mind. One day exploring youtube I came across a video which explains why we are so procrastinating and why it's sooo hard to do things related to your business, or to improve your life or financial situation, after watching the video and clearly understanding it, I was shocked and very excited and motivated, it actually changed my life and my approach to business and any task which is so hard to do.

It's called Inner Resistance.

This resistance is like another person who lives inside you and each time you want to do some task, he trying you to stop you from doing the task by telling all the different reasons why it's bad and why you should not do the task.

Let me explain with an example. Let's say you want to go to gym and the time you think about going to gym, the Inner Resistance appear and tell you to not go to gym because you don't have the right shoes or that you should first buy some supplements and only then go to the gym or any other reason why you shouldn't go and almost all the time you would agree and won't go to the gym.

It's just one example, but you know that there are hundreds of such situations in your family, in your business, in your heatlh.

And all the time the resistance appears and makes you pull back and change your mind from doing some task.

It's a very big problem for every person. Just imagine if such Inner Resistance won't appear in your life, you would be a millionaire, you would do any task you think, you would be healthy, stronger and happier, but the thing is that such Resistance is always hitting you and if you want to reach success in any field of your life, you need to fight and win against Resistance.

I have read many books and watched many videos about how to deal with Inner resistance and finally, I can tell that I am winning all the time against it and my life changes drastically.

You can try to search on youtube for 'Inner Resistance' and i am sure you will find plenty of amazing info about it and how to deal with it.

Thanks and good luck!

Yes, what you are talking about is the psychology of success...as they say, 70% of success is psychology and the other 30% is skill...so what you are saying is true , if you have internal issues , you will have trouble taking action and moving forward ...it's like a leaking bucket , water goes out at the bottom no matter how much you put in, first and foremost, fix and resolve this issue first before you move on to other things..

It seems procrastination will always be a problem for people. I believe everybody suffers from it to some extent. People who suffer the worst tend to be those with very active brains.

You can try your best to concentrate but your mind will always attempt to divert your attention on to something else. Sometimes we make silly excuses for ourselves so that we can then feel justified in quitting whatever it is we're trying to achieve.

I really don't know the magic solution. It's cliched but sometimes we truly are our own worst enemies.

Although, there are certain mental exercises that I've heard of before that might be helpful. For instance, if you want to perform a task, set a timer for 30 minutes and make a promise to yourself that you will work for the full 30 minutes non-stop. Afterward, you can then take a break and repeat the process all over again.

I have friends who have tried this in the past and they have seen a drastic increase in their productivity. Then again, other people might see no benefit in this.

I think this resistance is made to sound more complicated than it actually is.

I believe the reason our mind is resisting activities is simply the fact our brain is wired for survival, and one important part of survival is conserving energy.

Yeah, I know. Too simple, too boring.

Your mind is conserving energy because it thinks that activity is not important.

Why it thinks that? It all has to do with the thoughts you put in.

One easy way to overcome this is to make an activity VITAL for your mind. Now, let's just remember that whatever your mind thinks that is real, that is the reality, not the facts.

So you simply have to think you will die if you don't go to that gym. Simply imagine how you get extremely fat, and your heart is going to give up in 5 years tops.

Imagine the pain, the shame, the guilt, the regret.

But really imagining it, with heart racing and fear building up.

Now you are going to have a hard time not going to the gym. Problem solved!

Timing is the only difference between good habits and bad habits. Good habits feel bad at first but good in the long-term, bad habits feel good at first but bad in the long-term.

If you focus on the long term and not live in the present, you will see what is good for you and what is bad. Trust me, if you imagine yourself in coma because of those unhealthy habits, won't be a problem to give them up.

You are going to have a problem keeping them.

That's why I believe our problem, as humans, is the fact we make things more complicated than they are. Maybe to give ourselves an excuse or an easy way out.

Therefore, you don't have someone inside you that's keeping you from achieving big things. You are simply focusing on things that push you in the wrong direction.

Of course my mind is going to stop me from going to the gym if I constantly think about how hard it is and how I am not going to achieve anything with it.

You don't have to feel miserable while doing the good habits. Trust me.

There's a much better way to live than that.

It's nothing wrong inside your brain, you just have to adjust the thoughts you put into it.

If you take the responsibility of the thoughts you have, which are your responsibility, it's going to be easier to put yourself on the path of success, whatever that success means for you.

With all due respect, I believe this inner resistance is just voodoo talk, when the reality is much more simple and practical. We just have to take the responsibility for our mind and control the thoughts we put into it.

Plain and simple. It's hard work, but it's simple.

You don't have to work against your mind, that's unnatural and exhausting.

Work with your mind! It's your tool, not a tool against you.

we make things much more complicaed than we need to ..

people who are clear about what they want and feel they can get what they want..useually put the work in .

so if you lack clearity of what you want and why you want it.. then you feel deep down .. that nothing you can do .. will lead you to get that thing you want ..

so much of that resistance is the expectation of failure and the feeling any action or effort put in..is wasted effort ..

maybe he whole issue is you set a goal you knew you could not hit ..

I will have a look at the inner resistance on YT.
Talk about it being voodoo is in and of itself voodoo magic. there's a lot to learn about ourselves and the knowledge is always growing. we're wired in such a way that its impossible for us to not be ourselves. we might say something that's not true, like I love you our behaviour says different. Or we might act a certain way (out of character) but say things in character. The take away is that we can't escape who we are. What do we do then? In my opinion, we should stop trying to fix ourselves, rather create what and who we want to be. It's much, much easier.

    Inner Resistance

I know the feeling all too well. In your mind you have grandiose ideas about what you want to achieve, but taking the first step is the hardest.

Our vision is so big it intimidates us. It paralyzes us and we never take action.

Instead taking very small steps is the key to making progress. See the end goal in your mind, but find the smallest step you can take right now in the right direction.

Avoiding overwhelm is the key to beating procrastination. The moment your mind feels it's going to be too much work it shifts your attention to the easy thing.

When you make the first step easy you're bound to take action more times than not.

There is only one thing that makes us not do the things and its called 'excuse'. We always say that we cannot do this and that because of this and that. We are just reasoning out nonsense things and making an excuse just to eat out our precious time and waste energy on things that we shouldn't be satisfying ourselves with.

Loving oneself is different from satisfying our needs. If you love yourself, you would do something that would improve yourself as a human being instead of just hanging around all day playing video games and gaining nothing unless you are a game streamer and earning big time. Hehehe.

I hope my message helps anyone.

It's like two of you sitting on your shoulder.

One tells you to go for it while the other tells you: Don't you dare do it.

This happens to everyone at some point.

You have to make a decision to do it and that's it. Period.

Although I agree that inner resistance is a big reason that stops many peeps, my "stopper" (right now anyway) is knowledge and using that know-how to organize my daily tasks.

Trying to go back to working from home means getting equipment / technology up to speed, for instance. That has meant getting updated computing devices, printer and even Internet connection, as many more peeps have hopped on the local network, slowing speeds.

It has also meant finding updated ways to communicate - choosing appropriate social media outlets, presentation outlets (like Zoom versus Facebook groups & other avenues),support (like forums, reputable freelance sites for hiring and offering services) and more.

Also it means updating marketing to focus on Internet marketing more. Plus it means updating offline marketing materials as needed to draw communications online or to texts, chats, etc.

All these points - and many more - mean a person needs to learn, test what they learn to find good fits for their projects / work / budgets / target audience, etc.

Inner resistance isn't a stopper here. Just lack of knowledge and time to learn and test more. Life moves on...

I think a really easy way to battle inner resistance is to associate a task that you are feeling resistance towards with your values. Usually you resist a task because it seems unimportant or you don't see it benefiting you. If you connect a task with your long-term goals, or your values, you are less likely to resist it, because you can start to see how it has the potential to impact something that you care about.

As they say, the mind works in surprising ways. It's the human mind that can motivate you to do wonders and it is that same mind which doesn't let you get out of your bed at times. I can totally relate to that example you gave because every time I think about exercising or maintaining a healthy routine, a whole lot of reasons start popping up in my mind telling me why I should just skip it. Thankfully, more often than not, I am able to fight my inner resistance.

Lack of self-worth due to the indoctrination that gospels how to reach rock bottom.

That can be taken care of with acoustic mind rewiring technology.

I remember the scene in Glen Garry Glen Ross. None of us would have stood a chance against the smooth talking Al Pacino.

He was painting a picture like a renaissance artist!

You could apply his presentation to any market...his just happened to be Time Share/Real Estate and that guy could not resist. Luckily for him...and his marriage, he researched he had a limited time window to unwind/back-out of the contract.

    Resistance can be like Pain.

There are two kinds of pain in this world. The pain that hurts, the pain that alters. - The Equalizer

when you are faced with a bad situation (pain), there you have a choice how to face it: refuse to see the lesson and let it destroy you (hurts) see the opportunity and use it as a chance to better yourself (alters)
