Negativity in Small Doses

Lucretius said, "Constant dripping hollows out a stone."

If you're the type of person who thinks you don't complain much, think again. Every little bit counts and when it comes to your motivation and mindset in this industry, you could cave your whole business in with negative thoughts and self doubt.

I know someone who is the most negative person I've ever personally met. He doesn't see himself that way at all, yet everything he discusses has some sort of silver lining stripped out of it.

It's hard to see yourself as someone who is negative. I get on that track sometimes but I have to stop and shine a light on myself and see what the purpose of it is.

    Good point Tiffany.

It's hard to spot for the simple reason that negative has been the default mode for a long, long time that it oddly 'feels' right!

Yeah dont you love how it is almost encouraged to have the glass half empty rather then half full.

It is such a dangerous cancer that eats away at the core of happiness.

    Cool post love it!~

I do agree with you. I am in the middle of writing a book called
    "Negative People Make Me Sick".
I have been working on for over 6 months now. So I had to comment on this post. Not only is negativity a cancer, it kills everything that it comes into contact with long enough, ecspecially your dreams and goals.

    You are so right Tiffany.

I work in the Emergency Room
and I was shocked at how the same
people come there on a regular basis,
    breathing absolute negativity.

    They EXPECT illness. They EXPECT
    no solution to their problems.

There are some who come 2-3
times a day-for the same problem.
    I'm not kidding.

    It's so sad.

    They complain endlessly
    and find themselves coming
    to the ER for everything.

Nothing is right in their lives.

    Anytime I find myself complaining
    about anything, I remind myself
of where I could be and quickly
    change my train of thought!

They have the wrong mindset but I think they dont realise it
they have to be guided on how to develope the right mindset

I doubt complaining will solve their problems

In a similar light, this is why positive thinking is posed to have such a very strong power. I really enjoyed this video from TED that talks about the link between happiness and success. While you may know about it already, getting the evidence may make you want to apply it to yourself too. Check it out!

Negative attitude is a curse. I had some ups and downs in my life and I am yet to come out from that curse. I feel like very depressed sometimes and can't come put from that.

Great post. Sometimes we let negativity take over. What we fail to realize it that negative people just attract negative things in their lives. No one likes to be around a negative person. Stay positive, and the good things that will come your way are endless.
