Making money online for free?

The reason that there is so much nonsense
being posted online right now is because so
many people are desperate for money due
to COVID.

There are some free methods to making
money online such as using social media,
CraigsList, etc., but you would still need to
put in some actual work as well as having
a basic understanding of the fundamentals
to be successful with just using freebies.

And it seems to me that people these days,
especially the younger ones, don't want to
do anything, most of them can't even be
bothered to read a book that tells exactly
what to do, they just want shortcuts to the
gravy train.

I have been at this for 20+ years and taught
myself HTML, Wordpress, graphics, and
whatever else. I learned by doing and read
dozens of books and there is still much to
learn.

I am with you, I believe that it takes money
to make money and anything else is just
a bunch of folly.

What bothers me just as much is that Facebook allows ads like this. They're obviously scams but they're not blocked because FB is making a lot of money from their ads.

The ads are possibly against Facebook's ad policy. Best report these when you see them Gary. You could save someone from getting scammed!

But - he didn't complain about ads - he complained about "people seeking to make money online for free".



What possible benefit is there of spending your time 'reporting' people on Facebook? Are you qualified to be judging the comments/questions of others on Facebook OR of ads approved for FB?

FB has it's own rules and standards - trying to be 'internet police' is seldom a good use of a marketer's time.

Part of the problem is mixed messaging.

For example, people talk about people wanting to make money for free and that being bad, while at the same time offering lists of tools that are free. That caters to the freebie mindset. That says, in a way, that money isn't needed.

If tools are one of the biggest investments people need for any business and if a person can get the tools they need to do online business for free, doesn't that mean they can get started for free or much cheaper than they expected? Doesn't that feed the desire to find and do everything for free?

I'm not calling any particular person out about this. Mixed messaging on a number of issues is a common thing that happens here a lot.

do i have to explain how the YouTube google and Facebook algorithms work .. because of the online tracking data the big internet companies have on you .. the price for their free services ..

so your online behavior is probably why you see a lot of this ..i search for a wide variety of things ..to i see a verity of posts and adds on my social media accounts..

There are many reasons, dependent on people's personality and situation:


1. There are people who see a downturn in whatever line of work they are and are looking to get ready.



Of these, there are three kinds: those who do not care if it's free or paid, those who are not willing to invest till they get a feel they might want to go into it for real, and those who only pay.


2. There are people who lost everything (did not see the downturn coming).


Of these, there are two kinds: the ones who're desperate and broke and those who are not desperate (either because their spouse still makes money, they have reserves, or whatever).


3. There are people who live betting. They cane be part of the first or second group. They think that if they try enough free methods, they will hit upon something that works.


4. There are the clueless or the amateurs. They do not understand and will never understand what it takes to make it as an internet marketer or they know are not willing to put in the effort but they like to play internet marketer (without investing too much money).


5. Among all, there are those who believe enough people are essential decent and generous and, therefore, some of the 'for free' stuff will contain truly useful and sufficient info. They are not wrong. On this forum, Addams has, in the Warrior section, a way of making money with pay-per-click ads. It's a bit dated, but you can still use it to get you started. Will probably not make a lot of money doing just that, but you can, if you implement all he details, make 1000-2000 / month using nothing but no-money-cost resources.


6. Among all of the above, there are those who understand that no-money-cost methods require work, and often more work than paid methods, who are both willing and able to put in the work.


By the way, if you're in the right mood, you can learn a lot from free... though often it is a way of not doing something.


I started with internet anything in 2010. Free thought me not to put all my eggs in one basket, to not think that once I get something going I'm done, That once you know how to make $0.01/month, you also know how to make $100/month or $10,000/month (or any other number you want). That I do not like building websites. That I do not have what it takes to design a gorgeous website. That a website does not have to be gorgeous to make you money. That there's more money to be made (and easier) in selling gold-digging tools than digging for gold.


My first 4-paid lessons:

1. how to create a good Squidoo lens (intended by the creator of the product I had purchase)

2. I hate making Squidoo lenses (not intended)
3. I hate marketing Vizio TV's (even though it made me money).
4. Not a good idea to create Squidoo lenses (if your goal is to have long-term streams of income). Then, by extension, not a good idea to rely on other people's websites to make you money... Only use them to back up your own properties.


I learned all of that for $39 and the time it took me to absorb the information. In other words (considering the results I got), dirt cheap.

To make money online, you need to invest money.

Too many fake gurus say that all you need is to post free ads with links in them and you will make money selling other people's products.

It is far more then that.

The media has latched onto THE GREAT RESIGNATION idea, that people don't want to go back to the office, and there is some truth to that.

So, it is safe to assume the Covid Crisis (Round One) is one reason why so many people are looking for alternatives.

People looking to make money, for FREE, has always been an evergreen, albeit niched, market. Ads from 60 years ago in magazines offering up $$$ making businesses for free.

Who, really, knows why Facebook, et al, do anything they do, it all seems so arbitrary, one guy getting away with anything, another being banned for the same thing. It is what it is.

It seems your concern is really about how naive (or silly?) people are who think there is a free lunch out there somewhere.

The WF now has a 20 year history that shows those ideas have been continuous and unabated all this time. After all the WSO section is full of ideas of little to NO work (with the done for you programs) and some even claim it can all be done for free.

My thought is, why does this upset or concern you? It has been proven month after month that we can NOT give people common sense, we can't tell, yell, ridicule, shame, blame or in any way convince them otherwise...it is the lesson they will have to learn on their own.

Yep, You are exactly right.
I have been Marketing Online for years, and I am yet to see a FREE Opportunity that has either worked or even been around in the long term.

Money can't be generated by free.....Marketing real tangible products or good digital products for money is the way to go.

Stay away from 'free' scams

Admin is the God, (All Knowing and All Seeing) the rest are Angels, (as a very loose term) who have a range of chosen powers, bestowed upon by that God..

Some use it wisely and some don't, but you tend to use it wisely if you have been on both sides of the fence.

Heroes don't usually sit om the sofa eating pop-corn.

There really is no such thing as FREE money. There is always an exchange of value, be it time or effort of some kind.

As marketers, we are expected to offer our customers something of value that will help them (make or save money, save time, lose weight, etc.) in exchange for money from them.

The people that realize and accept this now will make a lot more money and save a lot more time on their journey.

100% of those who didn't take action never made jack squat.

For example, I made dough being an affiliate in a non saturated market brimming with rival affiliates. I thought, they had to be nuts to not promote this affiliate program. And they didn't! Then I took action. Listen up, visualize it and then take action - the amazing part is that sometimes you don't even to move a finger.... to move the needle (haha). Visualization showed me which path to walk on and I did.

Actually, there are no one hundred percent ways to make money online, everything because every activity which implies money gaining, also implies huge risks. The more risks you have to take on yourself, the more profits you can get in future. However, there are some activities, which don't imply risk at all. For example, freelancing. The only risk you have as a freelancer, is that you can be cheated on by scammers. Nevertheless, scammers don't like such activities, because it's pretty hard to cheat on somebody on freelance platforms.
