When you are feeling down, whats something you do to lift your spirit?

Hey guys...i sometimes lose my momentum when i am pursuing a project and i hit a hurdle and i start feeling down after a couple of attempts at solving the problem. How do you lift your spirit up to get the motivation to start moving again?

Join a brotherhood that will be there to lift you up so you don't splatter the place.

If you fall, brothers will be there to give you a lift. Not the floor. But a bunch of good brothers.

Hi felisitie: Great question. : )

Something that keeps me inspired/motivated and working is my "Reason Why" -- (which is basically inspiring and empowering People.) However, it could be anything -- even creating a consistent income -- that you find keeps you working. Another important point is that sometimes I don't 100% feel great at the beginning of creating more content -- however several hours afterwards, I feel satisfied and fulfilled by it.

    HTH.

I don't lift my spirits. I get back to work, and eventually figuring it out lifts my spirits...but only for a few seconds....because I'm busy.

What motivates me? Well, having a mortgage helps. My wife's irritating habit of paying the bills on time helps motivate me. Looking at my checking account activity first thing in the morning is a real motivator.

I think your thinking is backwards. You shouldn't feel down when you hit hurtles. Anything worthwhile is almost nothing but hurtles.

Overcoming hurtles is the job, if you are in business at all. If you need motivation every time you feel a little down, maybe business isn't for you.

You become demotivated after a couple of attempts? Then the project didn't mean that much to you.

    Hi there

I always try to remember the only way to fail is to give up, I also find reminding myself of the ultimate goal keeps me motivated.

give up ...if there are no consequences for not finishing a project just give up..and motivate yourself to start another project you wont finish ..and move on from one project to another ..

eventually some project might grab your jollies long enough to finish the project and you will learn to start projects based off learning what projects you will finish or complete ..

then one finshed project will lead to the next project to start and finish which will lead to the next one .. or many possible projects ..

how does finishing a project move the needle as to moving you closer to who you want to be in the future .... do you even have that vision of a future you ..

  • I take a look in the mirrah, an' gaze upon musself.

    Srsly.

Naht to be a narcissist, y'undahstand -- my intention is way less navel-gazy.

See bcs we all been dowin' this alla our lives.

Checkin' hair, fixin' mascara, catchin' teeth before they drahp in the sink.

An' that ole mirrah is proof we got ourselves to now.

So I would wanna kiss always on the flux in this image we seen down our days.

C'est Moi ... in the mirrah ... from when I was weeny small ... to here now how I be.

Here is a continuum of trust -- regulah to observe, seekin' to be evah more substantial 6 months from now.

No ideah what ima do with muh hair -- but less'n Novembah Balestra can't face husself, she will look upon it.

(Actschwlly Novembah is my birthday so likely I will wanna see what I look like, speshly if'n it involves sum kinda stoopid costoom.)

A space in the fyootyure always exists for us.

A foothold on communion with chance spun with max direction.

I would naht wish to see musself at 60 rn ... but I trust when this person gazes upon alla her days as they ooze from outta her life, she will do as I do now.

So my view of Moi is no self-obsessed horror.

It is reflectin' upon mortality's evident angels: the gal I been, the gal I see, an' the gal I trust to happen sum day.

Course, the mirrah don't last forevah, which is prolly why we seek its counsel so much.

It is neithah up nor down.

    Its frame inhabits anothah axis.

Well, there's a scale of hardship and hurdles.

with 0 being a girl scout selling cookies and not making any sales after 10 minutes

and 10 being an oil executive being held hostage by ISIS.

I think you need to disclose where you're at before anyone can give you specific advice.

Hardships are part of life and trying to put them on a scale of 1-10 or 1- 100 leave out leaves out the experience or capacity of a person to deal with hardship or even acknowledge there is hardship

oil executive working in a warzone because the risks probably meant far more money for him to make ....

i don't think the girlscout herself would care abut going without sale for 10 minutes. But the parent who doesn't let their child go anywhere outside alone ..without calling the child every five minutes or just driving the child everywhere ..

would just save themselves the time ab buy the cookies from their child..

Mind programming did the trick for me. I draw unimaginable joy from some recordings as I see myself transformed. There is no time for feeling down when you are in this frame of mind. One can endlessly suffer for years and years when they could simply flick the switch with deep trance subconscious programming.

I find music, meditation, and finding center is crucial. I am full blown ADHD with a million ideas passing through my mind daily. Often I have to disconnect from the world, go into a deep state of relaxation, silence, and calm the chaos in order to get myself grounded back to a reality that is befitting to my being and the ability to contribute something that can or will benefit others. If we are scattered brained, it rarely enables us to focus or be productive.

      I agree 100& percent.
You need to disconnect and find something that will put you in a relaxed state. This will allow you to be more productive.
For some people it's listening to classical music others just talking a walk. You need to find what puts you in a relaxed state.

Walk! Such a simple, free activity.

If I'm running low I go for a good walk outdoors and find it always lifts my spirits and gives me new ideas and motivation.

Don't know how and why it works but it always does.

Get out in the woods, by the sea or by a river. Whatever takes your fancy. A park or just round your local neighbourhood. It doesn't matter, go for at least 30 minutes, preferably 45+ minutes.

Not only will you feel better, it's good for your physical and mental health, but you will gain new perspectives and motivation in other areas of your life.

    Hope it helps,
    Anthony

I think you have perfectionist tendencies. Read about ACT therapy, it's helped me with perfectionism. I also have ADHD and so structure and analog timers are life. My morning routine of yoga and meditation makes me feel settled and ready to be productive. In terms of planning, don't think too much. Simply look at your day/week and decide what is the most important thing to do today. What will make you feel good at the end of the day? Then break down that task and start working on it.

Remember the small miracles that you know you have experienced.

When you felt someone or something was watching over you. (The Universe)

There is definitely luck but also there is us increasing the chances that we will experience good fortune.

If someone tells me there is no luck I refer them to the compilation videos of people avoiding serious injury or death by mere inches or fractions of a second and it was not due to some James Bond 007 skills.

Imagine being Stevie Wonder...no sight all his life and he sees more than most.

Another pick me up is fav music or a video of a kid doing something like when they dance when they see a street musician or even more amazing... being unselfish.

First thing, is to know thyself.

Are you affected by noise, light, lack of sunshine, weather or any environmental or stimuli?

Are you sleeping ok? Eating so as not to get sugar highs and lows? Getting enough oxygen?

If it is not of an environmental nature, then here is more than likely one cause of this.

    Goal fatigue.

Goal is either too far away, progress hasn't been fast enough, motivation has been forgotten, maybe shiny objects appear to create distraction.

I see this so often because the GOAL is too big, too far out. One key is to break down your journey into steps.

Picture a fire escape on the side of a building. You only need to go up or down a few steps until you get to a platform or stopping point. You can catch your breath, knowing there are only a few more steps until the next stop.

Maybe days of a week, with the rest being on the weekend. Building natural rest stops into your journey, helps you retain momentum and avoid fatigue.

So, after checking off everything which it is not; diet, lack of exercise, not enough sun, etc., etc. ...

Then take a step back and try to see the bigger picture of a journey, and if you haven't built in natural "resting" points, begin to do so now.

You don't have to climb the mountain in a day, but a steady pace with built in rest stops will allow you to regroup and remotivate.

First off, I must say what an interesting topic. Based on my experience and very personal journey, sometimes when you're feeling down, it's hard to get yourself moving again. It can be tough to find motivation when you're stuck in a negative state of mind or sticking to something that doesn't serve you, that can be a rotten friendship or relationship, it's hard but it's true.

However, there are some things you can do to try and lift your spirits. First, take stock of your achievements and accomplishments. Remembering what you're proud of can help give you a boost of confidence. Secondly, try and surround yourself with positive people who will support and encourage you.

Being around others who are working towards similar goals can help you stay motivated.

Finally, don't be too hard on yourself if you have setbacks. Recognizing that everyone has ups and downs can help you maintain a more positive outlook. By taking these steps, you can start to get yourself out

    I hope this helps!

    Regards,
    Adam
