The #1 determining factor of success in todays world

In my opinion, in a world full of people who want everything right now, being able to delay gratification and play the long game is the #1 skill for any person trying to become successful.

For so many years we had no where near the access to things like we do now. This has led people to believe that everything they want needs to happen immediately.

If you can separate yourself from that way of thinking and slowly build your empire, I think your chances of success are much, much higher.

What do you think the #1 determining factor of success in todays world is?

I agree with your opinion re: instant gratification as a Today want (and will stay that way for many decades to come).

And your advice of patience, and a slow build of your empire is spot on...however,

to accelerate that process. Give the people what they want. If they want instant gratification, make delivery of that a part of your business model. It has worked well for Amazon and their Kindle, almost eliminating the stand alone book store in the real world.

If they want it now, give it to them now. And then be patient and let time help you along.

P.S. I don't think there is ONE determining factor, success is, first of all; subjective and secondly, attained through a wide range of implementations.

Customers always want instant gratification. That's what you sell. But that's not what you want to buy.

I can't remember who said this, but "Buy when there is blood in the streets" is a good rule of thumb. Buy when someone needs to sell, and sell when someone needs to buy.

Honestly there is an impulsive reward for effort way of gratification

And a gratification based of the rewards from effort that get desired results.

What the hell is success in the world today.

Simple measure of success someone is either living on 20 percent or less of their earned income. Or the income from their assets fully covers the preferred lifestyle of a person.

The more advanced strategy is borrowing against assets at low interest rates and buying more assets. But that can blow up

      @Odahh ~

      The more you make,

      The more you spend,

      But the less you have,

      The more you need
      to manage,

      And figure out how to
      GET MORE MONEY!!!

Well the more that is spent buying assets the better.

But that sounds like a good explanation of the pack rat race or . Make more spend more buy bigger houses for the stuff you never use because you are working all the time to make more money to buy more stuff.

            Nothing sexual.

What is an asset depends on the skills of the person in control of a thing.

In the hands of one person the value can go up drastically or a thing can generate income every year.

Other hand a thing can lose money.

I get this evry time I bend ovah to pick up a zucchini I dropped in the store.

Prolly it is bcs I been indoctrinated to delay gratification an' play the long game.

tbh zucchinis gaht delay gratification written all ovah 'em.

But their value can go up drastically, I get that.

Jus' gotta be careful with 'em, I guess.

I dunno -- is there a fyooture in kumquats?

Don't wanna conduct no straw poll for no reason whatsoevah, but how does the WF Imminentosphere view kumquats?

For sure, they ain't kale, but could they manifest wholesumly as a substitoot for zucchini for health-conscious hoomans with nuthin' but good in their hearts?

I would wish for this always.

Thanks for that, truly there is so much noise out there best be patient to your rewards.... My no success determining factor in the world is... Learnig to change your beliefs about your perception towards success... I think beliefs are everything about a person and what they achieve when looking back right at the end of life.

    1. Taking action and calculated risks
    2. Consistent work and persistence (not giving up)
    3. Growth mindset (accepting that there's always more to learn)
    4. Learning from your mistakes and self correcting

There is really high inflation hitting the pockets of most people around the world. In virtually every thing they buy.

If you can handle the increases and pay more. That shows you are more successful than those who have to cut out or cut back or put it on a credit card until that option runs out.

Sadly not everyone pays more despite the higher inflation rate.

That is only sad if the people not paying more . Think there is no real problem. And the people talking about higher prices are just whining and complaining

Guess that the main factor in case you want to reach success is to be eager to do someting and be passionate about the activity which you run for your success. I believe that there are so many people in our world who don't like their occupation and do it only because it brings money for feeding their families. I'm afraid of such a life, because I think that people should only do something that they like. You will be success only when you will be happy with your activity. Of course, some people can't do what they want, but they must strive to do it actually.

That is so true. We want instant solutions. In addition, another determining, factor of success is leveraging. As a newbie, i believe if you leverage on other already successful entrepreneurs and model their processes then you can succeed faster. Do not try to reinvent the wheel.
