Making mistakes and correcting them

Mistakes are inevitable. Humans always makes mistakes. But what differentiates us are acknowledging our mistakes and learning from them. In life it is inevitable that you make mistakes, for the betterment of you, you must acknowledge your mistakes and learn from it.
Happy Sunday.

Well said. : ) Here's one of my favourite quotations:

"...You can be discouraged by failure, or you can learn from it. So go ahead and make mistakes, make all you can. Because, remember that's where you'll find success : On the far side of failure."―Thomas J. Watson, Chairman and CEO of Of IBM (1874 - 1856)
Something that I also learned for Watson ― that is included in the full quotation ― is that many People think that "failure" is the enemy of success: Something that holds them back ... When, actually, it's part of the process of succeeding. It's even recommended that a Person double their rate of "failure".

Why? The more you fail (or make mistakes), the more you learn. And, the more you learn, the more you succeed. Essentially you're doubling your rate of "success"/progress.

Welcome to The Forum, by the way.

Yeah it's also important to learn from ― and correct ― "general"/personal mistakes in Life.

If you are in the learning or growing or figuring out stage mistakes are just part of the process

McDonald's and fast food companies have an rnd section that figures out how to set the equipment up in a location to serve food as fast as possible. The mistakes are made there to save lots of time from being wasted at franchises

There are little mistakes that are part of life and then there are critical errors that can put you out of business or cause permanent physical injury. Or get you in legal trouble.

But you have to be in business to make a mistake that puts you out of business.

Microsoft was built on releasing the pre beta version of it operating system. Which would be critical business mistakes in other businesses

        Good point.

I agree that some "failures" (etc.) can be more difficult to transcend. Usually "Business" mistakes (etc.) are relatively simple ... However a Person can also learn something from "adversity" [Def= "A difficult or unpleasant situation."] Personally -- as you probably know -- I have overcome Social Anxiety, Depression, and Mental Illness. And although it wasn't easy -- I wouldn't change anything. Because it's all been worth it. : )

Anyway, I honestly believe that a Person can overcome/transcend/make the most of almost anything.

        P.S.
I've never personally been in "legal trouble" (and don't plan to be) ... However Gary Halbert spent some time in jail and used the time to create "The Boron Letters" -- which were a series of letters to his son Bond about everything he learned in Life and Marketing.

If every person actually could then far more people would. There is some virtue in those who do missing in those that don't. Maybe virtue is the wrong word.

You can dig through the mass of those who never make it and not find a trace of why they didn't.

But dig through those who do change and improve and get themselves out of bad situations.

And no matter what happened in their lives at some point they own their lives and stop doing the things that cause problems and start doing things that improve their lives.

You will make mistakes in the process but mistakes are part of the process it the people trying to avoid mistakes that somehow keep messing up and never getting better

This is just something I have observed being around many people in the worst situations you can think of. And situations you can't think of.

The people who explain how they are now based on events far back in their lives. Leave to the professionals and medications. They tend to be a lost cause hopefully they can live the rest of their lives with out more bad stuff happening.

There are people with kind of messed up lives but are fine with it and the main trouble they have is the people with great ideas about how they can fix their lives. A sign of this is people who don't complain about having very little money. Until someone tries to get them to do something they don't really want to do. So they talk about not having the money for that. To not just tell people they don't want to do that.

So the people try to get them to fix the money problem. When the lack of money is not the real problem.

Then you get into people who can improve and only want a little better than they have now or a bit more comfort. And from their progressively then exponentially capacity to improve.

The rich get richer exponentially the poor get richer just by a few percent a year

Oh boy where do I start?

We had a certain member in the past who never acknowledged their obvious mistakes. I do wish they learned from that, though

      Nice saying.
      : )

Where possible, I think it's best to learn from other Peoples' mistakes ... However I think it depends on the context. There are some situations ― including "personal"/Life challenges ― where it's better to learn the lesson(s) personally.

Also, there are some pursuits (etc.) where a Person has to learn them for themselves. For example a Person learning Copywriting has to make some "mistakes" so they can improve their craft. (Which is part of what I posted originally about doubling "failure".)

My brain is off today and I am not meaning to sound mean or judgmental to anyone.

There are those who understand stand the process of going from not knowing something or some skill. Starting out badly and getting better through doing things that work and things that do not.

And the vast majority of people either follow other people's recipes or are waiting for a download to know Kung fu . Not willing to do things that may not work.

If you are not willing to go through the process there is no path to success in that thing. Going from incompetent to competent to advanced to expert to master

To succeed in this world does not even require expertise or mastery. Advanced levels of ability in multiple related areas

Your post reminds of something I learned several years ago:

          1. Unconscious Incompetence.

People are to lazy generally. And have been convinced multiple behaviors of successful people. That are unconscious competence developed over months and years or even decades.

Are just habits. That can be developed in a few weeks.
