re: Self-Improvement Books: Do YOU Actually "Work The Program" & Do What The Author Suggests.

I've read all or part of several self-improvement books.
A Quick Summary of all of them:

Chapter 1: An engaging, inspiring opening chapter gets us off to a great start.
Chapter 2: The author continues to lay out a convincing plan for a truly happy future.
Chapter 3: The author gives a concrete example of an exercise, or (for example) a "format" to write down my short, medium, and long-term goals. There is usually a comment about how *important* it is to do the exercise "right away."

What is your reaction at this important turning point in your life?
Long day at work?
Do you need to stop and eat dinner?
Oh that's right, big sports game on TV tonight!
How about we read a couple more pages, take a break, and do the exercise another day. :p

How are things going with you?
  • Do YOU Actually "Work The Program" & Do What The Author Suggests?
What was the end result?
Are you still on a journey towards improvement, or are *you* habitually happy, healthy, patient, balanced, energetic, optimistic, etc?

Whatever your current condition is...
  • Can you, please, offer any advice on building new habits and actually applying wisdom to your life?
Thanks all.

    1) When you read a self-improvement book do you actually do what the author suggests?

    2) How were your results, has you life improved?

    3) Can you, please, offer any advice on building new habits and actually applying "self-improvement wisdom" to your life?

    Thank you
