It can be difficult for many of us to stay disciplined and focused on goals we set. However, I am positive there are a few things we can do to increase our chances of success. For example, have a clear and specific goal in mind.

Trying to accomplish too many things at once can lead to scattered effort and eventually burnout. Also, I figured that we need to break down our goal into smaller, manageable steps. This will not only make the goal seem less daunting, but it will also help us to track our progress and stay motivated.

Finally, we need to create a system of accountability, whether that means enlisting the support of a friend or family member or simply setting reminders for ourselves. By taking these steps, we can increase our chances of staying disciplined and focused.

What is your best method to get things done?

Maybe, even ten thousand and one methods out there for getting things done.

It is a lucrative market in itself. Some still old schoolers carrying around a daily planner, others having shifted to their cell phones and one of a dozen planner apps.

I'll share a tested and proven way to set and achieve goals.

Today, at almost 90 years of age, Mr. Harvey Brody of Orange County CA is still conducting million dollars a year business from the comfort of his golf course adjacent home. He has over 60 years of CONTINUOUS success. Never a down year.

    So what does he use?

He calls it a View from the Rooftop, where you can see where you want to go and then plan the route to get there, sometimes he uses a map as a metaphor, others a flight in a plane.

His most famous one is the ladders on the side of a bldg. Think of a tall building with a fire escape. In his model, there are 7 steps to the next platform, then 7 to the next.

These being the days of the week, although his has only 4 steps (because he only works four days a week)...but most of us can put 5 or 6 depending on how many days a week we want to work.

So, you have days and weeks, and how many platforms there are depends on your goal, if it is a year away, then you would have 52 platforms. And maybe those would be divided into 13 each, as quarterly checkpoints.

By moving your piece, like in a game of chutes and ladders, up the steps, you know exactly where you are and when you have an indepth plan, you know exactly what you will be doing.

I'm sure there are many others and hopefully they will share their own systems for planning and execution of their goals. Just as an aside re: Harvey Brody, he was after all mentor to Dan Kennedy, Gary Halbert, Jay Abraham, Ben Suarez, Joe Karbo, Joe Sugarman and a host of other marketers who achieved huge results.

It would be hard to find a more influential mentor and so, his system suits me.

P.S. Since the view from the rooftop is the same as what you "see" in your mind's eye, the goal...Harvey has you work your way DOWN from the roof. So, what will be the last thing you do before you reach your goal? That is the step off rung. Then, what did you do right before that, and so on all the way to when you are on the ground just starting out. This method allows one to see potential obstacles and hurdles.

Also, put a firm date for the step off rung. Then work your way down the ladder to get the amount of time it will take you. Deadlines are critical to all planning and goal setting methods.

Thank you for sharing this wisdom as always, I had the chance to check the document was shared along with your comment, indeed there are thousands of methods out there, some works and some not, depends on the personality and the character.

I really liked about Mr. Harvey Brody, is that how simple his method is, have a clear mind like his is indeed a gift, to be able to see the pattern or the blue print you might say that works for him and his family.

I think if we all have clear minds we can come up with something unique or a great plan, but when there are too much stress and worry, about the outcome, more than we should, it blocks our vision to see the great things we can accomplish.

Gordon... I just learned something new again, NEVER knew of Harvey Brody - but I definitely remember the conversation we had about rooftops and ladders. I just found this FREE 36-page PDF - and interview with Harvey, there are some decent insights he shared inside.

In 2006 Harvey and I were working on a project with Ben Suarez. This interview came out of that. We had it posted for years at our forum.

Today, and we just emailed last week, he is putting together huge Toll Positions with international players, very exciting stuff.

My favorite of his might be: how to create a multi billion dollar business from scratch, as he helped his daughter and son in law do around that time.

I can't reveal details, but it had to do with Botox and injectibles.

But the PLAN, OR blueprint is: be the rep for major players, do training, and then have them come every year for recertification and also get a piece of all they buy from the corp. Don't know of anyone else doing this, but it can be scaled down for some quick and easy profits. Meditate on this: REcertification, year after year, after year.
There is no one out there like Harvey Brody, truly one of a kind.

For me what its helping me to work hard its to see the traffic going and i know that sales will come .its hard until you get a traffic source that gives you results .sometimes you work wit a traffic source and you work hard with little to no traffic and you lose motivation and desire to be consistent

I wish it was that easy, if seeing the results is the only way to motivate you and stay focus, it's kind of tricky deal, because usually things don't work as soon as you implements the methods or techniques you have learned, success takes time, it needs time. While waiting for this moment to come, and the moment of truth, you have to hold on in to something that keeps you fully focus and motivated.

I like the answers to the OP's question.
There is a simple answer, with plenty of options.
One of my favourite questions is this:

What's the big difference between dreams and goals?

The answer is simple. Goals are written down!

Whether it's a hand-written list, a typed up list or ladders on a building,
the key is to always have a number of goals with detailed plans and set deadlines for reaching each level of each goal.

One final point. ALWAYS have more than one goal.
Otherwise, you achieve one goal and then have to start from scratch again,
when it's best to always be looking forward and keeping your momentum going.
