Which IM Guru Do You Wish To Be Like??

Hi,

Since WF is primarily an Internet Marketing community, I figured you might be inspired by someone who's very successful in terms of wealth. But if it's something else that inspires you and somehow it relates to Internet Marketing then please feel free to share.

What I am curious about is, who is that man/woman or that dude that really inspires you and makes you feel totally awesome and you wish you were that guy or had what he has!

To start this thread, I will go first, the image I have of Anthony Robbins is just amazing. When I think of taking action, getting people's love and have enormous energy, I wish to be like him. And not to mention the amount of wealth he generated over the years is just amazing!

In no particular order, these peeps are my inspirations.

    1) Ewen Chia. The reason why he started Internet marketing was because he wanted to sell his music (or something like that). He loves music. So do I. And, well, he's a superaffiliate, and I wanna be one too!

    2) Kanye West. I'ma letchu finish, but I am for real. He turned tragedy to triumph (he broke his jaws in a car accident but he used it to propel him to greater heights).

    3) 50 Cent. He might have lost out to Mr West in the Kanye vs 50 rivalry, but he's still a hustler, and he uses his experiences in his business ventures too.

    4) Lil Wayne. He likes to try something new. In IM you have to venture into unchartered waters once in a while.

    5) Robert Kiyosaki. He said "success is a bad teacher". So altho I keep failing, I'ma use those failures as stepping stones to lead me to success!

I suppose all (or most) of them have gone from rags to riches. It goes to show that you can be rich regardless of whether your family's financial status/background.

I have three Internet Marketers that give me inspiration.

      They are:-
Tom Hua - the complete gentleman whose mentoring is second to none.
Roy Cater - whose relaxed thorough style brings excellent results.
Ewen Chia - who step by step built himselt up to be the superaffiliate.

The main quality that they all possess is the ability never to give up, even when things apear hopeless. So remember when you are down, things can only get better.

I once met Brian Tracy at an event he presented in Gatwick, UK last October.

He is very endearing and such a professional.
Many people queued up just to have their photo taken with him.

Since then, I've seen more of his works online.
I aspire to be like him in my own work.

I don't believe in idolizing people on a pedestal. There is a fine difference between being inspired and following every move of a hero.

I don't need an IM 'guru' to be inspired, I look at survivors of a natural disaster and how they pull together as one community and I'm a ton more inspired by the spirit of people than I'll ever be from someone making XXXXX amounts of money.

My fav IM Guru is Michael Brown, creator of the Niche Blitzkrieg system. At that time when I was a newbie marketer an being tempted by many get rich offers, I came across Micheal's course.

I was very impressed by the simplicity and structured lay out of this system. His ebooks and videos are excellent as they literally hold you by the hand an walk you through the entire process of getting your 1st affiliate website up.

Thanx to Michael training in my early stages, i've developed the necessary foundation to achieve great things in the internet marketing world.

I don't want to be anyone of the well known Im Gurus. Why? Because they're well known and Privacy is king for me. I prefer to not have my Name written all over the place, but it's definately harder to make money that way, especially when it comes to making products, repeat customer base etc. That's mainly the reason why I've sticked to faceless affiliate promotions so far^^.

Frank Kern for me as he is so laid back and confident (that's not how he looked in his early days working with Ed Dale etc)

As I'm British I have to mention some of the Brits so it would be Dan Raine for being a bit off the wall, and Martin Avis for making it all look very easy, I could be either.

Tom Hua seems like a super cool very intelligent gentleman, I'm not sure I could be like him, but it would be nice and lastly Brett McFall just because he looks so laid back and yet has it all together.

    Hi R. Shawner,

I can feel what you say and I think there is no need to hide in such a way. Propably many of those IM gurus created a persona for public matters. And are therefore allowed to have an very intimate privat life while using the benefits of presenting a public figure that can be used as projection by their customers / "fans".

Do you pass on the life you'd really like to have because of what others might think about you? At least, this was the reason for me to stay "private".

I think when people ask for IM guru's, they think of info pushers only. I'm going to go a little outside the box and say I'd aspire to be like Robert Herjavec. Some people might not have heard of him but he is a master of marketing...both online and off. He built an internet security company from his basement and sold it to AT&T for $100 million dollars in 5 years.

I know that a few internet people have built and sold companies for hundreds of millions of dollars in a short period of time, but Herjavic's was different. Believe it or not, his company was actually MAKING MONEY.

I think we also have to honor almost ALL of the info pusher gurus. I don't think there is any other business out there where you can push the same EXACT product for years, changing the graphics every 6 months, and still have people saying 'wow this is great'.

Edit - Steve Jobs is also an honorable mention. Although most of his stuff is done offline, he is the master of product launches and Bill Gates is the master of JV partnerships. His JV partnership with IBM changed the world.

Jay Abraham is someone that I admire a lot. I've studied a lot of his work. I wouldn't call him my guru, but he's done some amazing things.

-I think his integrity/ethics is top notch. How many people selling $5 k to $25 k seminars has high integrity...for decades? A lot of authors, gurus, experts, they lose or compromise their integrity if times get tough, or if they really need the money. A lot of gurus come under scrutiny. Like Robert Kiosaki. Others go off on tangents, and get into things that arent their expertise. There's very little, if any negative feedback on Jay. Even if you dont like him, you admit he delivers tremendous value.

-He comes up with new innovations. He started very basic...his old mastermind marketing seminars. Then advanced. Then international. Then even more advanced. If a top master is always growing, what does that say to you...the newbie? A newbie that hasn't even mastered one of his principles.

I think thats the biggest problem 90% of people on the internet have. Everyone wants to make money and be successful, yet they havent even really mastered one principles. A guy like Jay shares dozens or hundreds of principles at a seminar. Then he basically takes the whole seminar and throws it away, and starts fresh. You have to really get out there.

Not necessarily wish to be like, as I just aspire to be a better and better version of myself, but I do admire the work of Mark Ling, Chris Rempel, Jason Fladlien, pioneer "scientific" copywriter John Caples, among others. And if we're talking about motivators, Jim Rohn is the best in my opinion. Their common denominator? Heaps of common sense with minimal hype.
