What is your New Year's Resolution?

Out of curiosity, I was wondering what everyone's New Year's Resolution was if you have one.

I'll start. I actually have two.

The first one is to become a better writer.

The second one is to gain ten pounds of weight.

What is yours?

I've broken my goals into sections or departments.
    Health
    Creativity
    Wisdom/ Spirituality
    Income
    Domestic/ Family
    Social networking
    Emotional/ Relationships
    Charity
    Travel

Health= always at the top of my list. I'm not going to get anywhere with my other goals if I am sick and laid up. Cut back on meat and processed foods. Keep weight and blood pressure down. I've left the gym and used more body weight exercises. The bodyweightculture wesite has been helpful.

Creativity= This is the next biggest focus of my life. What I have trained for. What I was meant for. Summed up my goals are to continually refine my drawing/ painting skills.

Wisdom/ Spirituality= It helps to keep all the other goals in perspective; the meaning of it all, or the ultimate goal. It has to be simple in practice. Include being genuinely grateful for what I have. And keeping a certain amount of detachment. Paying attention to what's going on around me without taking it personally.

Income= Last year I took steps away from working for someone else and towards earning my own money directly. This include multiple sources of income and not depending on any one venture. I've learned a lot from Tim Ferris' book 4 Hour Work Week. I need to learn more about accounting.

Domestic/ Family= now that I don't HAVE to spend time with them, I can spend time as I WANT to. I also want to clear out a lot of old junk storage.

Social networking= Many of my other goals require help or cooperation of other people. So social skills are important for real success. Learning to listen and to help other people to get what they want and I'll get everything I need.

Emotional/ Relationships= someone to share it all with.

Charity= Helping other to get what they want will help me to get what I want.

Travel= There's still half a world out there I haven't seen. This year I'd like to visit Paris.

To accomplish my goals I just keep trying. Try something. If that doesn't work, try something else. If THAT doesn't work, try something else. If that STILL doesn't work, try something else.
Crap will happen. Distractions will come and go. There will be setbacks and failures.
All I have to do is not give up.

I have so many resolutions, I'm trying to make sure they are balanced through all areas of my life. I feel like work took over in 2009, so I'm not going to make the same mistake in 2010.

Personally I don't have a work resolution of earn $xxxx in one month. Instead, I look towards how work can help me meet my personal goals - like being able to volunteer and help others.

Apart from that I'd like to go away somewhere at least once in 2010 (not necessarily overseas, even a break within the UK would be nice for me), to keep up my passions like writing for pleasure and playing piano, and to start an exercise routine and become vegetarian.

Write one article every 2 days...

Day one I will write it and get it formatted and the second day I will sort out all the backlinking.

By next year at Christmas with a lot of work I won't have to listen to my brothers going on about how wonderful they are and how successful, I will be a successful online guy in my own right, just coming up a few years behind them.

Mine is pretty simple. Make $1,000 more profit every month than the previous month.

Goals are nothing if action is not taken and motivation is not lost. I stay motivated by both physical goals, and by reading books.

My goal is to get further away from my involvement with client projects and allow my project manager to make more decisions. This will allow me to get back to what I like to do the most which is find attractive niches and launch websites to service those niches either with my own products or affiliate products.

I have found a superstar niche with 1,740,000 annual searches for the exact absolute keywords but only 23,000 competing websites. I think I will concentrate on that this year.

I decided this year to develop a new habit each month. So:

      1. Drink more water.
      2. Walk two miles or more each day.
      3. Cut out sugar
      4. Cut out the caffeine.

      on and on like that.

      Thanks for asking.
