How to brand yourself in a new niche?

When you are going to a new niche, and when you don't your real name to be associated with it, how can you brand as the expert?

I guess, it's probably lack of self-esteem for me, but I don't want my name to be with several unrelated niches.

Can you create a pen-name and build a business around it?

How did Eben Pagen positioned himself as David De-Angelo?

lol Very good idea. However, all you have to do is provide good value and you'll NEVER have a problem in any niche. Satisfied customers is all that's important.

Find some products and do some research. Find a PLR collection in a niche, study it, and make your own product(s). At that point, only promote gurus with good rep and you can just twist the sales page. If you like the niche, buy more products so you can sell more. Expand at that point and find what you enjoy.
The rest will take care of itself.

First, using a Pen Name is typically fine...provided it is a pen name, and not used for other purposes.

Awesome Possum is right 100%. Give great content. Give original content. Give refurbished content. Give valuable content.

The point is, you become the expert when people come to you for the answers, and for the content. It will hardly matter what your Pen Name is.

Post regularly in forums, get lots of great testimonials for your product. Provide testimonials yourself for other products.

It does help having an interest in the niche. Being an expert in a nich where you have no real passion is a chore.

Is this a niche that you know a thing or two about? If so, then you may already be more of an expert than you think. You can start up a blog using a pen-name and provide the quality content that has already been mentioned. Its really no different than branding yourself. You're simply using an alias.

Had to laugh at this one, if a guy named Ebin can do it -so can you!! Ebin is not your typical romeo, but he change his name and perhaps took on a more seductive personality by doing so. He's not the typical guy I would date, too geeky but look at where it took him? You can do it too, as you say our self esteem is what holds us back, get out there and just do it...you will be surprised.

Who gives a damn if your name is in a few niches. What are the chances of someone from niche "A" finding you in niche "B" anyway?

If you have great product & service for multiple niches, be proud and go in as yourself.

I know what you mean. I started off as a financial expert, then I meandered into internet marketing. My company name is already picked, so not much I can do about it, but hey, why restrict yourself to just one stream of income. Alaways believe in yourself and you can do anything! ;-)

Providing Value! Value, value, value...and more FREE value.

I find this is the best way to boost your credibility because...

If you educate yourself on something that interests you, or if you are already
educated, people will RESPECT you for sharing your knowledge.

People love knowledge, especially when it's FREE, and it's always appreciated
when you can gather it all up for them and de-mistify the Truth from
the Lies. From my experience, they will gladly pay you to share valuable information,
even if that information can be found for free with a thorough search in
various places (i.e. online, in books, by talking to other experts, experiencing, etc.).

It's like getting all that outsourced in a sense LOL.

I know I love FREE stuff and I pay for quality, valuable information. Don't you?
