Is there such a thing as too much motivation?

Taxi Drivers have pictures of their dream vacation on their visor to help them
get through rush hour traffic.

Employees everywhere in every company have family photos in their work place
and it somehow helps them work faster and better.

You can find kindergarten drawings dedicated to moms and dads in cubicles of
corporate America.

There is a businessman listening to a Tony Robbins' CD in his car on his way to negotiate
a huge deal.

Athlete's get hyped to the sounds of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lil John.

Some people just need a moment of silence to get their game face on.

There is more than one way to get in the zone.

People find their focus in different ways.

My imperative for you is this: Do what you have to do.

There is no shame in it. Some may call it superstitious or
a ritual.

I call it preparing for the good stuff.

It does not matter if you are flipping burgers or giving a presentation to
thousands of people.

Staying motivated and staying hungry is vital to your business and personal development.

Don't just go through the motions.

Power through those daily obstacles and build momentum for
YOUR PERSONAL VICTORIES.

    My favorite flavor is Strawberry-Bananna.

My in the zone formula : 0

Visualization + (a couple moments of silence)=(show time)

It is totally corny. But I say positive affirmations to myself. "Every Day and in every way.. I am getting better and better. All the time." Give it a shot. I feel great after I say it out loud.

Another thing I do is even weirder.. Visualize yourself in the center of a whirlpool. Picture all the things you want. Short term goals and long term goals, people you want on your side, things you want to achieve. See them in the whirlpool swirling in closer and closer to you.

Please don't have me commited to the looney bin, ok?

P.S. Strawberry banana = major high fives from me! Strawberry kiwi is also excellent.

Ryanedmunds, I was wondering where you got that whirlpool technique from. It's an interesting one and I've never heard of anything like it actually.

P.S: Not even close to being crazy. I fullheartedly believe that your thoughts and beliefs are what will determine every single aspect of your life. Who's the loony now? : )

I have seen it referenced in several ways throughout different meditating and spookier paranormal literature. I can't recall the source of that exact technique because it was in an ebook I downloaded back in the hey day of Kazzaa and other P2P software.

Wish I could be of more help.

No worries. It was only curiosity, I'm not sure I would've put it into practice personally. Everyone has their own methods of visualization and I like mine more than enough right now

I have always found if my goals are in my face, I have far more success in achieving them. I usually type up my main goals for the month/day/year/whatever and put them up in my closet where I see them everyday. I don't go to bed if I haven't done something towards each of my goals that day.

Matt, something that's REALLY helped me along the way that might give you some value is typing up your daily goals each and every morning when you wake up. This only takes about 5 minutes a day. Think about it!

Writing out your long term goals once a week (I prefer Sunday) as well as the reasons you've set these goals helps a bunch too.

Thanks for posting Rellie. I almost entirely forgot about those methods to motivate oneself.

And you're right: Put power in every act. No matter how important it seems to be at the time you do it.

Another small motivator I use is keeping a task list on my homepage. I use iGoogle and a little task list widget where I will write something like "6 more articles on..." and then count down as I write them.
