Just a bit of inspiration.

Found this on a friend's Facebook wall, and just thought I'd share:

"I now own what I do. No more boss. I'm sick of building other people's dream.

Quitting my job, firing bad clients, paving my way through unsure path, is horrifying. But it's worth it. Nothing much now, but I believe it.

And I used to think money is the motivation. It's not. It's just one of the things. It can get things moving, but it won't make things stick.

Question I heard that I've asked myself, which got me started thinking was:

'If money is no object, would you still do what you're doing now? If not, then what are you doing? Dying is a very long time.'

After I heard that, I quit my job, ignored the calls from the bad clients whose **** I've been putting up with for years. I fired them.

Now I focus on working with those who I really like to work with. I choose them, instead of them choose me. Even if the pay is not much. But it turns out, the pay gets better. The work gets better, the satisfaction is amazing.

And I never felt so much better. I feel good."

Some people spend their whole lives chasing that next dollar, those people are not happy. I'm no expert but I believe too little money makes it hard to be happy and too much does as well.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

That's a question I frequently ask to myself. Really helps to focus on the things that are important to you.

That really hit the nail on the head!

I sometimes hate explaining myself to friends and family when I a*choose* to work on less active income generating things in order to give myself the time to work on projects I really want to work on. I don't mind not having as much money coming in (as long as I've got enough to pay the bills) because there's something else so worthwhile about not only doing what you enjoy, but also being your own boss and knowing you have earned every bit of success.

And your friend is also right - even though you might not be doing it for the money itself, the pay does get better, too

"If money was not a and objec (or barrier). Would you be doing what you are now."

No. My life would be completly different. I would be living on an island in the south pacific. Dating or Married to a pretty Asian woman. SOaking up a warm tropical environment. Running an online school of sorts TEaching small groups of student from around the world how to be a little more successful. How to dream better and achieve their dreams.

It's opposite from what i am doing now . Unemploeyd . no teaching experience. Living in the cold northeast of the US . Baffled as to where i should start.

"I now own what I do. No more boss. I'm sick of building other people's dream."

The problem with most jobs is that your really not building someone elses dream. Your just holding a place in an Organization. I think a lucrative business or series of jobs. Would include helping building other peoples dream and makeing others rich.

IF i work for other people from this point it people i can make rich and people with dreams they are working tword.

      Thank you for this post

This is so good. Thank you so much. I still can hear all of my teachers telling me, have a job where you can give jobs to other people. Yes, money is not always the only achievement. Thank you for sharing this.
