Are You In Dire Straits?

I read a lot about people who struggle to get things done because of procrastination and wanted to take the time to throw in some of the pearls of wisdom I have learnt in the years of being in business.
The biggest evil to start, implement and finish a project is procrastination.
Most of us dream of riches, a life lived to the fullest potential with the least possible need to work while we soak up the sun on some tropical beach with a hot babe (or muscular hunk) next to us.
Fact is, most people fail every single day in their attempts to get something done to grow their business, or even start one. In the Internet marketing niche we see this obvious phenomena through the sheer amount of successful WSOs selling like hot cakes.
Unless buyers of these products start to implement their new-found knowledge they will never reach their dreams.
So why is it that most people struggle doing exactly that? What sets you apart from someone who has, or is actively achieving their dream of living a better life? Are these people smarter than you, are they more hard-working?
The answer is not what you think, in fact, the magic word that sets winners apart from the losers is called Dire Straits.
Unless you are in DIRE STRAITS about changing your current circumstances you will NOT ACT. Only the people who have nothing else to lose and a lot more to win take ACTION.
These are the people who know that they are given a last resort to change their lives, so they take an opportunity and run with it.
A Dire Strait is like a tiny seed that has the potential to grow into a beautiful tree.
Even if you hate your boss, work in a job that sucks, work too many hours and live in a squalid apartment you will not act until you are in DIRE STRAITS to escape that situation. After all, you still have a regular income don't you - who would want to justify this by going into business for themselves and risking financial burnout if things fail??
My advice to those of you who keep worrying about procrastination is to look at your motivation for escaping your current lifestyle. If the desire is big enough, you will find a way to do so.
Remember, being in DIRE STRAITS isn't going to be enough, you still need to dedicate your entire life to your goals, no matter what. When things get tough and you experience a setback from time to time it will be the DIRE STRAITS that will keep you pushing forward - because you know the alternative!
