That's the crux of it...what is success. My definition of success is pretty dynamic and most of the time doesn't involve $$$, but rather what or how have I been able to help someone.

When I say "success" I usually mean my personal success. I define things as success when I achieve the goal, develop myself. In general I name success everything and every time my wish come true. That's the magic of success.

I don't define success by money either - money is nothing in itself, it's what it can help you to achieve that's more important. For me, that would be time to help others and volunteer, enough money to buy a house, and money to travel.

But on a much more basic level, success, for me, means doing something I'm afraid of. Nothing beats the feeling of being so scared but doing it anyway and doing it well. And knowing you did it all yourself!

I think money is an indication of success, I think just because we live in a capitalist society its how our world works and is a measure of success in our time... of sorts... but I think beyond that then real success is sustainable living - to set something up and to have it run with or without you - or perhaps to create something which grows to become bigger than you anyway.

First time I became aware of success is when I asked my mother to help me jump ropes.
I want to jump ropes so bad, I was only 8 years old kid with a desire to jump a rope over and over.

    Here is what happened.

My mother told me to go jump 100 times and you can jump.
So I believed her and I jump 1, 2, 3.... and it so horrible, i hated how it started

i was getting slapped here and there my leg is turning red and i was hitting my face
my arms and i was beating my self so hard and still could not jump the rope after doing it for 100 times.

I came back to my mother and told her that I can't...
She said " go back and do 200 and let me know when you are done!"
I went back and start thinking, how can i jump without hurting me.

Now I am going slow and taking the time jump one at a time.
and learning to control the speed of the rope, and I looked so funny...
it was not jumping the rope, I was hopping the rope...

After 200 there are no jumping and I told my mom.
"I still can't jump the rope"

She told me with a firm voice,
"Go jump 2000 time and don't come back until you did it, got it!"

Oh boy, here a little boy had to figure it out some how.
so I went back and start jumping again.
I told myself if I jump 2000 and still can't my mom will tell me to jump 20,000 until I do. so i was determined to make it happened.

    I am 100 still ... cant
    I am 150 still .... cant jump
    I am 200 still .... can't jump
at 247 I finally go it
    my rope became me
my rope that used to hurt me, now became my friend
my rope is now in sync and it is spinning and spinning while i am jumping
I was able to jump and do double spin and triple spin

I was so excited I told my mom I did it, I did it, I can jump and jump and my rope is my best friend.

Here is the funny thing, my mom who coached me here, she could not jump rope herself but she was able to help me to bring out the best in me.

Success to me is a realization of my dreams and realizing how everything wants to help me to realize this dream.

Everybody seems to have their own definition. One thing for sure, everybody wants it!

My definition has to do with the one and only limiting resource that we have: time.

For me: Success is having the freedom to do whatever you choose to with the time you have.

Success means self-satisfaction to me. Self-Satisfaction means constant growth to me. Growth means constant expansion to me. Expansion means being complete. Being "complete" means being fulfilled which means all desires have been fulfilled & there is no room for any other desire. Once this happens, I'll start feeling blissful, powerful, joyful & will feel STRONG LOVE for my own self. I'll feel deeply connected to my own true REAL self. I'll be who I really am.

That's exactly what I call SUCCESS.

We all have our own definition of success that is applicable to our own daily lives. Mine starts in the morning with thanks and ends at night with thanks. Everything in between is the topping, good and "bad" Yes, material stuff is nice, and lets me do things, but as I heard early on and took a while to learn, it's just stuff, it comes and goes.

Success can be whatever each individual needs it to be - Fame, fortune, glory

Ultimately true success is waking up in the morning with that 6th, 7th, or 8th sense that just says "yes"

Defining success by what others think of you (recognition) is directing linking your happiness to the opinions others have of you or your work.

How can one truly feel successful if you are always concerned with what others think?

Determining a person's individual answer to the "what is success" question is crucial. Once you know your personal definition of success, then you can take the steps to be the best you can be. From this definition, you can set goals for yourself, think about how to incorporate success into your life, and understand if you are striving towards your own ideas of success or the definition someone else placed on you.

For me "Success is creating what you want the way you want it to be".

Success starts with goal setting, and then goal setting is followed by action. Neither your goal setting theory nor your actions have to be perfect. A key to success is to start anywhere; over time, your vision will clear and your actions improve.

You are spot on, my friend!

I define success as having a successor. If you think that you are a success but you can't point at one person that can take up the mantle when you are gone or one person that you have developed into a success, you are a loser.

Understanding one's limitations and working within the limits helps to achieve the anticipated results which may be called as success. It seems there is scope always for improvement in every endeavor that we make. I believe in a saying of a great thinker "there is no failure , there is only further experience!".The socalled failures helps to get conviction and determination in future

If you can make a difference in someone else' life, you will make a difference in yours.

When you give value to others, they will value you.

When you treat others with respect, they will respect you.

If you can help others achieve what they want, you have achieved success.

Helping someone creates so much value. It's intangible and the feeling is just simply amazing

Well, it depends and changes over a period.

For me, when I set a goal, I actually achieve it, its a success. It really spirits me up when Im almost there and a booster for me to set another goal.

Same with family goals too. So its not just one thing success is bound with.
