How do you make IM enjoyable?

I've been listening to Tony Robbins Get The Edge Program. So far up to day 2, and up to step 5. Step 5 is setting the game to win. He talks about the importance of adding things to the process to make it enjoyable. For example with exercise, he said you can music, running with a friend, or doing a different exercise everyday.

So my question to you, is what do you do, or can do to make the process from A->B more enjoyable with internet marketing?

What makes you look forward in doing tasks especially tedious jobs, in order to achieve your goal?

Im not talking about the enjoyment and thought of the end result (thats step 1-2), im talking about things during the process, to get you to your goal.

Cheers.

What I have done lately is look at what it is that I like doing and use that to make my IM experience more enjoyable.

For example I like writing and for all the years I have been trying to make it in IM I never really utilized my love of writing but recently I had this idea to write a daily blog for the next 365 days.

What I have found is that one it gives me a goal and a challenge to look forward to and two I am thoroughly enjoying myself. Now I spend less time worrying that my business is not making money and more time researching information for my blog. So I am accomplishing two things I am learning and sharing information.

The challenge keeps me focus even nights when I come in at 11pm or 12pm from work I sit down feeling highly motivated and write my blog for the day.

I am only just over a week into this process and yes I have missed a day or two but there seem to be something that keeps pulling me back to write the next blog.

If you had asked me a few months ago if I could write a daily blog I would have easily said no but now as I am challenging myself to do it it seem possible and best of all I look forward to doing it and I am having a great time.

There is much I need to learn about blogging but I know that with time it will come.

I have been reading the book "The master key system" by Charles F Haanel and there is a quote in that book that I keep in mind and focus on daily "I can be what I will to be"

If I am doing a tedious task, then I will have either music or tv on in the background where I will focus 50% of my attention. The other 50% will be on the tedious task...normally thats plenty of attention.

If the task is boring but complicated, then there isn't anything I really do except keep in the front of my mind that Yes, internet marketing is a great way to make great money, but Yes there is also some work involved. Then I think about all my friends who work at banks and law firms and that they have to do long boring tasks all day every day.

    This helps a lot! haha

I'll listen to the radio while I work. A given tedious task gets done quicker, enabling me to move on to the next activity.

I also like to write, but for me, the prospect of learning something new and teaching it to others helps me to remain focused and interested. Tedious part is organizing and reshaping the material from research.

The overall thing is so darned good, it barely registers that something can be 'tedious'.

I can't listen to music while I'm trying to concentrate. I find that in doing IM, you really need to focus concentrate, specially, if you are not too familar with some of the software and the various clever techniques.

When I am working on IM, time just seems to go by so quickly that I wonder where the day has gone. My problem at the moment is making the time I spend on IM productive and that means that I have to read and learn and do to get better.

    Regards,
    Lawrence

I listen to my favourite radio shows during working hours. It's become a habit and it really does help me to feel motivated. Aside from this, I love what prime777 said - I too have started writing a daily blog just for myself - haven't even shared the link with anyone - and I just write about my goals and achievements. Somehow, making yourself write in a blog for 5 minutes a day can really reinforce what's good about your work and help get the bad stuff and tedious tasks into perspective.

Do what you like doing. I like writing, so I'm writing hubpages. If I don't enjoy it anymore I'll do something else.

Try rewarding yourself for having the self discipline to accomplish those tedious tasks. Maybe make a game of it. I'm sure you can find some fun in those boring tasks if you try.

I always work on things that help myself so I have good foundations towards my customers.

dude...just have fun with whatever your doing...tweak things...rearrange....restructure...mess around with the blueprints and formulas and just have some fun with it...IMing is just another game (: The people that win at it adjust they don't find strategies...they develop them then move on to others.

    Depends on your approach...

Personally I tried the BH crap for years, made some scratch but didn't feel too fulfilled by it.

Then I finally gave into my inner voice/being whom loves helping others achieve 'stuff'...that's when I really got crankin'

It's different for each person I guess.

Find something that sets your mind wild, then cut it loose...

BTW, Tony Robbins stuff is pretty good stuff if you feel you need a good old fashioned kick in the arse!

    How to make IM enjoyable?

Find your niche and let 'er rip!

    Take Care,

    Chris

Constant music. I love music and audio books especially. I can usually finish 2-3 audiobooks per week. I've been going through all the classics I found on LibriVox and constantly listening to those. And plus I love working online and don't really find internet marketing "Tedious" or something I need to make enjoyable!

I normally have a movie going in the background when I do the tedious stuff.

Can you send me a pm about the service you offer in your signature chini with your email? I don't have enough post to send a pm here.
