Well...are you? If you don't think you are, why not? And, if you think you are, why so?

I think I'm just an average marketer trying to make a living online, however I don't think I am because I'm 16. Besides that, I don't feel like my results are anything like those internet millionaires. It's enough to make me feel very happy though and to buy me nice things =)

Every human being forms their own reality, beliefs, and opinions. Based for the most part on their surroundings and what he / she is presented with from day 1 on this forsaken planet and is therefore unique.

'average' is the same thing as 'normal', try to define either and you deserve a medal.

I love it! Everyone has a different definition of "average" therefore it's different to everyone.

From my belief structure I'm not average, I don't think anyone likes to think of themselves as 'average' in all aspects of their life.

Hence the reason for different clothes, people getting piercings, tattoos etc.

I agree that there is no clear universal agreement on the meaning of average.

I mean if average is just an honest person trying to make their way in life, then I think average can be quite common.

But, if average is not having the ability to be unique, then I obviously believe that nobody is average.

if you've hung out with me at all you would see right away I' not average. Got a few screws loose hehe

There are many facets of "average". If you pinpoint things in your life, you can be above or below mathematical average at that. Such as, I have an above average work ethic. But, I'm not sure as a whole somebody can be labeled as average

I don't know if I'm average or not, but I am always trying to improve. I guess that means if I was average yesterday, then I'm above above average today. But, its very possible that yesterday I was below average, so then maybe I'm average today. Unless, of course, everyone is improving as much as I do. Then the average just keeps getting higher and I'm just doomed.

    I'm below average.

My difference is patience. It gave me everything. It taught me how to organize knowledge. How to make changes in my life. How to meditate, relax. Taught me everything I know. Even how to believe in myself.

Without that I'd be waay below average.

With it I'm working my way towards an amazing life. Right now...I think I'm a tad above average in the way I live my life. But not by much. At least I enjoy myself everyday ; )

That's a tough one to answer as what exactly is average?

When you take into account that everyone's perception is their reality, then there is not even a rule to judge by.

After 27 years and not even making
less then $15,000 it's not even close
          to average.

It wouldn't really matter what I think

Matthew, not to tell you what to do, but I recommend you do yourself a favor and go to your local library, check out a book called Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T Harv Eker. It will show you how your thinking creates the results you get, about anything really, not just money. It could be life changing for you. This isn't a new age woo woo book, so don't think it's like The Secret or anything like that.

Dennis, I'm glad you caught on to that. I completely missed his post.

    Mathew,

Two things separate the best from the worst in life.

Indirectly: Natural talents and coincidence. Yup..no joke. It's about genetics and how/where you were raised. Your environment. This directly affects our mindset.

Directly:This is the one true thing that separates everyone in life. It's our mindset and our belief systems.

So buddy here's what you can do if your sick of it. Pick up any book on mindset. I'd suggest you you take up Dennis' suggestion. It's a great book and it's been proven to have transformed thousands of people that think the same way you do. Try it out...just read it and apply it. See what happens?

What's the worst thing that could happen? Oh noo!! I wasted time reading a book on what sets apart millionaires from the rest of them....what was I thinking?

There's a lot more where that came from too...once you read, think about and APPLY this books you can come back for suggestions. A lot of people love to help out in this section. Sometimes we have contradictions but the one thing we in common. We are all striving for success here.

There have been a million rags to riches stories and they all said what you've said at some point....the only difference is jumping on opportunity when it comes along...so what's in gunna be dude?

It won't happen over night but it will happen....it's not a bad hobby to pick up either. Success improves every aspect in life that you can think of. ANYTHING!!

You could be the worst guy in the world when it comes to girls and sex but the only thing that makes a difference is applied knowledge. That's it!! Anything and everything applies to this.

      I'm done with reading books.

I've read so much it I don't think
I could find anything new in a book
      if I tried.

I've read or listened to in no particular order:

      Conversations with Millionaires

      The Richest Man in Babylon

      Psycho-Cybernetics

      Science of Getting Rich

      As a Man Thinketh

      Million Dollar Habits

The 21 Sucess Secrets of Self Made Millionaires

Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude

      The Strangest Secret

      The Essence of Sucess

How to Win Friends and Influence People

      You Were Born Rich

      The Millionaire Next Door

      The Magic of Thinking Big

      Acres of Diamonds

A whole bunch of stuff by Stuart Goldsmith

Think and Grow Rich - This book I've probably read about 18 to 25 times.
      I've stopped counting.

I skip a few of the chapters near the end though. Only ever read chapter
11 in that book once as I've never engaged in human procreation and
      never will.

It's not like this stuff is new to me at all.

If I were to add in books about mail order, writing sales copy, direct marketing
or just marketing strategies or books about peoples sucess I would have to
add well over 100 more books to that list.

    Dude...give this a try.

It's a completely different framework. It'll be ground breaking for you I promise. I put my life on this product working for you as long as you apply it.

The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill

This has NOTHING to do with think and grow rich. It was a study of Ford, Carnegie, and Thomas Edison!! Trust me when I say I'm only on lesson 2 and my frame of mind sky rocketed. I'm in the process of building my first two businesses after planning for months...no joke man.

Give it a shot...go through one lesson a week for 17 weeks and you'll be a beast.

    Why?

Because dude...I'm currently way in the dumps money wise...I've got no phone and no money, I'm kicking it in my mom's basement right now!! Of course this has nothing to do with my mindset and framework because I know it's already changed...the reality is I'm rich...I just have to be patient and wait for time to supply...not too hard...I mean time doesn't change

I'm in the process of building two multimillion dollar businesses. No doubt in my mind.

And Matt, has this concept hit you yet? If you've genuinely read all of these books this has to have come up time and time again.

Life is an illusion and the real magic trick in life is that it's up to you to make your own.

Also, I still would recommend and trust Dennis and his book.

If these two don't work out for you....then you can give up if you want to.

    I'm certainly not average.

I wouldn't dare calm myself "average" by any means, and I
know what you mean by "average".

Mentally, I'm on top of my game, and I'm getting better
everyday I play. I'm not a "common folk", but I can relate
    to the common people.

I feel like I'm one of the best at what I do in business, one
of the best in developing relationships, and one of the best
in getting what I want and discovering more and more how
not to stand in my own way - let alone let someone else
    get in my way.

So, with respect, I'm far from average - but in no way do I
consider myself to be better than someone - I'm just very
confident in my own skin and what I do to know I'm better
    than "average"

    I'm awesome.

WSO's used to be free along time ago now they are like
what $40 or something. That's $40 more then I have.

What would I create a wso about anyways? How to make
money? That would make me a complete fraud since I don't
      make any.

The last ebay auction I created was actually for selling the
books I used to own. I had to accept check or money order
      because I didn't have a paypal account.

Instead of actually getting paid I recieved a fake money order
for thousands of dollars instructing me to cash it keep my portion
and send the rest back to them, it's a pathetic scam.

The project I want to start is a greenhouse to grow food in and sell.

Except when I went to a bank to get a loan every one turned me down
      multiple times.

So having to make it online is my only option except I can't make anything
      online.

So it's kind of pointless to keep it as a goal as I'm never gonna raise
anywhere near what I need to start a greenhouse.

I'm not going to tell you to think positively because everyone has talked about this already, that being said I'm amazed by the amount of negativity that you carry around. Maybe making some money online could help you change your mind set. I have a simple idea for you. If you have never made any decent money in your life and you are in need of money you can easily offer link building or article writing services for a cheap rate on the warrior forum. And don't tell me you can't do this because anyone with basic computer knowledge can do it and for someone who doesn't have a job the pay is not bad.

        Hey Matthew...

I wish I could tell you all I've been through in my life, where I came from, and
what the experience has really been like. Because if I did tell you everything,
it may be a source of inspiration. I don't know.

You've read a lot of books and that's good. I will tell you something that has
the potential for helping you to turn things around, or at least get them pointed
        in a better direction.

Something that has the potential. Ok...

Avoid equating money earned with your self worth, your value. It's a recipe
for complete disaster. Utter self destruction. Do what you need to do to change
        that kind of thinking.

You really do have to decide the quality of the things you think. You 'have' to
if you ever hope to escape from where your head is at. Either you don't know your
thoughts build your reality and your life, or you do.

I think you understand intellectually, but putting it into action where the rubber meets
the road that is your life is a whole new ball game. Right?

You must contribute your energy in the form of your will in order to accomplish this. You
have to train your brain, your mind, to stop screwing yourself over in the form of these
things you think, say, and write.

If you cannot, or will not - then ok. Ok. Up to you, man.

One thing that I have noticed is situations, the process of change, often require a period of
        time and patience.

Time, your effort to think the right 'way', and your actions or efforts to demonstrate
and create the energy that goes forth. About these matters, I know from many years
        of personal experience.

It may take you years to do this, but I won't BS you about it. It may be the greatest
challenge of your life. It was for me, but I emerged victorious in so many ways you
        cannot imagine right now.

In a very simple, yet real, way... it's a conscious decision you can make, or refuse to
make. That's true. But either way it goes, you will still make a decision about it. You
        know that's true, as well.

I have failed so many times in my life is not even humorous. I have failed at many things.
I have failed to try even more things because I was afraid to try.

But, I have succeeded at very many things, and not all are easily described or understood.

Accept that you will most likely not succeed with everything you do. Accept that it may
take years before you find your way. It may take 10 years, or 20, depending on how well
you train your mind. I am an expert in this area. You're damn right I am.

The direction of your life is 100% up to you.

Don't measure your value with money as a ruler. If you continue to do that, you will
be setting your self up for many years of unhappiness and misery.

Matthew, I have a suggestion that you certainly don't have to follow:

Instead of trying to explain why you can't make money, go out and find a way to make money.

Start a free blog and sell all of those books you read!!

Then when you build up enough money gun for your first WSO on theory about thinking like a rich person...you can't do it yet but you sure know a lot about it!! Sell that on your blog too!! That's a quicker way to make money...

So: for a free way to start making money review products through bloggin...then launch your own. After that do a WSO on it.

All the while review the two recommendations that Dennis and I gave you.

That's all I have time for. If you don't take on my suggestion, I personally can't do anything for you...

The definition of average, to me, is not being different! Can''t say I've ever met someone who wasn't different...

  • Well, if I think I'm average, I am. If I think I above average, I am. My background in
psychology, life skills & life experience has taught me that we all keep moving up & down the scales or Maslow's pyramid, so to speak. I have come across people who anyone in the market would think are doing below average by material standards, and are totally content with where they are. So while their basic necessities are barely met, they maybe at a state of self actualization. Some, who have achieved everything else on the pyramid, are still in a state of insecurity.

Definitely, the blueprint changes, genetics, learnt thought processes, exposure and most of all cognition, ability to use what you have learnt - application. Some of us are slow there. Been there myself.

There are several areas I see myself as above average, some are below, some just there. Overall, I have a good feeling about where I am heading. So, I guess I'm there!

I'd like to hope that I'm not average. I set myself goals and I work hard to develop myself in many different ways in order to reach those goals. Right now as I'm typing this I'm watching a video that is teaching me new skills - and I think that it's steps like these that stop me being average.

No, I think, I am above average. I am more than happy and earning more than expected. I think, one day, I will win the internet market.

The word "Average" does not exist for me. I see everyone including myself as unique, different, above average beings. We all have something to offer and we are all above average at something. So I choose to focus on that instead.

My personal thought is that none of us should view ourselves as just average. Because we are not !

The fact that we are on this forum and making a difference in the lives of others by posting our thoughts and opinions is above average in my book.

Have a great week everyone !

    Kris !

No one is average. Everyone is who and what they are. Each has been given talents to be the best they can and achieve at whatever life gives them. Be the best at who you are and you will always be right where you belong.
