You are likely to get a lot of divergent opinions regarding Network Marketing. Whereas some say that money 'can' and 'has been' made using these systems, others counter that money 'can' and 'has been' made by early exiters of pyramid schemes and other scammers.

Many MLM-type industries are saturated with representatives leading to limits on a downline. Their payout matrices are also very top-heavy, favoring only a lottery payout if you go diamond or something like that. The ones with spillover don't really make sense, but, it's all about simplifying and almost confusing the numbers and telling a story of pie-in-the-sky profits.

In network marketing, the idea of having a 'sponsor' sure has it's benefits - having someone show you the ropes. Yet, this relationship can be a limiting situation where you rely on another person.

If you see a product that seems unique or favorably priced that seems like there is an opportunity, I would say investigate it.

Ask the people bringing you in how much THEY HAVE MADE with the system. Ignore all the stuff about how much you or they 'could' make.

By finding out how many people they have brought in, and how much they have made, you will roughly know how much they make for bringing you in.

Network marketing does do a few things right, like using squeeze pages and giving the opportunity-seeker and the customer few options.

I'd take a look into all the great resources on this site that show you how to get into Affiliate, CPA, or Informational Marketing...and, if Network Marketing still looks like a better decision for you, then, go for what seems like it works for you. Go with the one making the most people the most money, and skip the seminars and motivational tapes. Big Network marketing companies are now advertising on television. Its all about figuring out what products might work with your lifestyle. Talk to people who have built Network Marketing businesses long term. You'll probably find that many people go from (or get sold into) one opportunity to the next - In much the same way the recovering alcoholic gets addicted to going to AA meetings.

The same investment that could get you into a Network Marketing opportunity could also get you to a IM or Direct IM seminar / marketing event. That would be a great place to get perspective, encouragment, direction for making money online, maybe do a little networking and find some guidance and insight.

MLM products that have done well are ones that lead trends. I believe Amway was selling vitamins (their orignal name included 'Vitamin') before they were in drug stores.

Other trends include organic foods, whole foods. Enough juices, right?

I would stay away from the travel or pre-paid legal service-type stuff.

Even Trump has an MLM, so, I guess the jury is still out.

Gotta do MLM? Ninja advice: Start your own MLM and utlize the fact that other MLM's are all pre-existing "family trees" of sponsors and sponsorees to get a quick surge of referred recruitment.

    Good luck. Hope this helps.

Okay, you might have guessed that I am not a fan of network marketing (isn't it a four letter word????)

Network Marketing is a great way to make residual income but it does take a LOT of work. Also, make sure you do your research before joining any company.
Some of my friends are in Numis Market, Monavie, and Ardyss...some have had success and some have not.

    Good luck on your search!

Network marketing sucks! It requires CONSTANT selling as your client base will drop off. Nothing "sells itself". Turn your attention and talents to IM. It has a better track record.

My wife is having good success with 'Nu Skin'. They have a range of really powerful anti-aging products. They're not cheap but they really do work.

Just make sure that whichever company you go with that you sign up under a strong leader who will give you the training and support you need to make a good go of it. It's hard work, but the rewards can make it very worth the effort.

Robert Kiyosaki calls network marketing the business of the 21st century and highly recommends it. Me, I've never been much of a fan of the MLM business model but it certainly is working for my wife....and my face has never looked so good, lol!

Good luck and all the best with it!

Network marketing/MLM's require way too much face time and pavement pounding. Sure you can outsource most of it, but you've still got to have those fresh leads to sink your teeth into.

Your IM biz can collect new leads all day every day and they can be a lot more targeted. Just think, no offering free samples to little old ladies in the produce aisle!

That said, I do know LOTS of people in MLM's that love it.

I think a great starting point is to pick one with a product or products YOU love and go from there.

I have always liked the concept of Network Marketing but never built any kind of organization with it. I recently got involved in the smartest business I've ever seen. Its called SendOutCards. As the name might suggest, the opportunity is just sending cards to people and showing others to do the same. I have actually had success showing businesses in my local area how to send thank you and appreciation notes to their clients and prospects.

SendOutCards is a service that almost every business can use to show value to their customers. If you're interested in learning more, click the link in my signature.

The new way of doing network marketing means that you can network from the comfort of your own home, no pavement pounding or hounding friends and family members. In fact I know a 7-figure networker who built his organization without ever even picking up the phone to call a single lead, and this common in the network marketing realm, it's definitely a new day for the network marketing game despite it's unsavory reputation that has been undeservedly thrust upon it. That being said I do agree with the comment on finding a mentor who knows what their doing and knows the game. A good sponsor is everything so when choosing one look at their business and ask yourself if this is the way you want to grow an organization?, or ask yourself "Do I want to end up in this guy/girls shoes?" now unfortunately asking for direct income claims is forbidden by the FTC, they liken it to guaranteeing income claims which falls under the federal crime of enticement. These are not waters that you want to be in with the federal government...EVER, they don't play well with others...just read Frank Kern story about it.

I like networking to meet people and see what the trend is, but as far as making money with it, I have not succeeded in yet.

There are pros and cons to network marketing (like just about any business). One of the things you will hear people complain about is that yes, it really does require work. So, I would suggest you approach any MLM opportunity like any other business
    1. check out the business plan and see if it makes sense to you
    2. check out the products and see if they are something you can sell
    3. Carve out the space in your life to dedicate yourself to your business.

If any of these things doesn't work for you, then move on to something else.

For me, I tried several MLMs and the hard part was carving out the time in my day for customers and downline. I'm still affiliated with a couple and I still make a wee bit of money from them. I've moved on to IM because it works with my schedule so that I can dedicate myself to my business in the time that I have available (sometimes in the middle of the night).

    Good luck

I like Networkmarketing. I have made money in Networkmarketing. What you want to do is create cashflow upfront and market your networkmarketing opportunity on the back end.
