5 Qualities You should Develop For Yourself In Order To Lead Others in Your Organization
Why should anyone develop the proven qualities of a great leader? Before I explain the why part of this equation, we need to understand the value of leadership and how it can impact every aspect of your life.
John C. Maxwell defines a principle called the Law of the Lid as "leadership ability is the lid that determines a person's level of effectiveness." For example, the lower a person's ability to lead, the lower the lid on their potential. The higher a person's ability to lead, the higher their level of effectiveness in their organization. It's absolutely necessary to succeed because you must step out in faith and search for the unknown. This means you must face the inevitable doubts and uncertainty that will show up with every venture. Courage is also the ability to stand by your principles that you believe in and refuse to compromise unless the alternative just feels right.
The fourth quality of a leader is dedication. It means spending whatever time or energy is necessary to accomplish the task at hand. A leader inspires dedication by example, doing whatever it takes to complete the next step toward the vision.
