How do you motivate yourself everyday?

For me its all about the mornings. I sit and meditate on what I want to accomplish in the day for about 30 to 40 minutes. I also meditate before bed the night before for about 10 minutes.

Key is to be consistent and eventually it becomes routine like eating breakfast.

I scare myself haha. I never want to work an actual "job" ever again and the only way to keep that dream is to keep on hammering away at my marketing.

When things get a bit too much i always go outside for a walk, i break down my issues one by one and figure them out, then I'll come back refreshed ready to go again.

    My kids.

I want to be able to buy them a house at 18, a good german car, right before they go to uni.

Thats my main focus right now.

Call me crazy, but when I think about all the things I can give them IF I get my mind straight... it's insane.

OR maybe I just want them to go live alone.

yeah the mirror is a great place to kind of get things into perspective. I used to go to the mirror in the mornings and ask myself if I was really work $15,000 a month, if I was really a leader, if I was worth $25,000 a month. It really is a powerfull technique.

In the morning I write out what I want to achieve while listening to the Superman soundtrack. I always ask myself "What will I do today to get me closer to my goal of....?"
Then I write out 4 to 5 action steps.

I also think about who I am grateful for and how I can give back through my success.

So pick and song and take 5 to 10 minutes to think about and plan what you want to achieve each day. It really works!

I agree with you Matt. I scare myself too! Its crazy how it works. I have a poster board on the back on my door in my room. One side has list of goals and the other list of things for a day job. Goals- make $200 today, dream car, dream house, etc. Then I put for Cons-wake up 6:00am mon-fri, drive an hour a day just in traffic, having a boss, dealing with angry people, staying awake all day, etc. Hahaha crazy but it works.

It's always good to start the day motivated and what I usually do is to smile the moment I wake up and be thankful for another new day and followed by this powerful mantra that this day is going to be a productive day for me and my business.

That all makes everything so positively attached that gets me energized while I turn my music on in the background. Oh, I'll also not miss every good breakfast that adds smile to everything I do during the day.

For me as a internet marketer, getting up in the morning is a PAIN. I don't have no one kicking my ass if I don't get up. I can always say just another 30 minutes and it will be OK.

But I get up, everyday in the morning, with a clear goal in mind of providing for my family and a future of success and satisfaction.

That's what get me out of bed and stay motivated.

      Whats your dream and goal?

I make a motivational/visualization timeline recording of what I see happening over the next few weeks and months and listen to it in the morning while (hopefully) doing cardio.

To me, IM is so exciting with what can be achieved I don't need any motivation to keep at it.

The best way to motivate oneself towards a goal is:

Meditation / Visualization everyday - Once in the morning and once before retiring. This should be as detailed as possible with all the related events ... A - Z of the accomplishment you desire. So you start with your current status .. to what all you want to do towards it .. and what result you expect. This really helps .. apart from Prayers and other steps.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards

Ever since I had my daughter, I haven't really had any issues with being motivated for some reason. I just wake up and am energized. Unlike when I was in school, it would sometimes take a lot of motivation to get out of bed and get ready for class, simply because there was always that looming question of, "to skip, or not to skip class" lol. Now, there's no question that I need to make the $$, so it's kind of a load off my mind and I just get to it.

I'm like you EvanScott. I spend time each morning making a list and thinking of what I need/want to accomplish for the day. I also have longer terms lists - weekly, monthly and an overall goals list. I break things down. But that's kind of the planning stages and a path to follow to make sure I'm not forgetting the important steps.

As far as true motivation, that comes when I get inspired. Once I hit "inspiration mode," I fly and go faster than my lists can keep up. That mode usually triggers when I'm working the step-by-step plan. I'll get into what I'm doing, get a bright idea and next thing you know I'm off and running, so into what I'm doing I don't want to stop. This sometimes breeds more ideas, etc., and I'm flying along.

So I wouldn't say the motivation comes from planning and list making, but from working the plan. It's like building momentum.

Also when you tell yourself in the mirror or even on post its everywhere you usually go that you ARE successful, you ARE knowledgable about IM, you ARE financially independent, your mind eventually puts this at the tops of the subconsious list and you "trick" your mind into thinking that 24/7, it then becomes second nature, almost like breathing. I had trouble losing body fat for i loved junk food so much, that i used this exercise and posted up notes everywhere. I now can't stand junk food, i know it tastes good but its like my mind is telling me, "you trained me to not like junk food, so no junk food for you" haha

To motivate myself i just think of how much more potential there is to experience all that life has to offer..(mainly traveling). And how much working a 9 - 5 restricts you from really living life to the fullest.

The books I have read before mention to meditate for 30 minutes first thing in the morning and last thing before bed for that is when your mind is most clear and fresh. Thats why I studied 2 hours before a test in the morning, when I was in college. Your remember everything so much clearer!

Well it's difficult for sure when you're in a heavily saturated and competitive market (gaming industry), its definitely been hard to stay encouraged but as long as you're constantly pushing and working hard to perfect your product while learning from your mistakes, it will be rewarding in the end. I keep saying to myself life isn't easy and trying to be a successful person doesn't happen overnight. Have faith in yourself and keep working hard to achieve your goals, its hard not to dwell in negatives but its dwelling on the positives that will keep us in the right path.

I motivate myself by having a notice board above my computer with dozens of famous motivational quotes written on pieces of paper. If i feel my motivation dropping i look at that and it keeps me going.

I also listen to audios on my mp3 player like Science Of Getting Rich and Think And Grow Rich whenever i leave the house to go shopping or just to take a walk.

I try to do something EVERY DAY! No matter how small that thing is, it keeps the momentum going.
