Do you have a favorite movie that inspires you?

I know there are many movie out there that are motivating and inspirational.

This morning I just watched a dvd called "Four Minutes" which is based on the true story of Roger Bannister who broke the four minute barrier in running. I read about him in several self-improvement books.

This movie was quite amazing and I highly recommend it.

Anybody else have any good movies they like? The focus should be about inspiration and motivation.

Have a great day!

Just watched the movie "The Blind Side"
Really left me thinking about my life and for what I should be grateful for.
It was really a touching movie. I must say one of the best I have seen in a while (except iron man, but that's different )

But how long can movie keep motivation/inspiration in you, really? It's not permanent... I don't remember where I read this, but it goes something like this: "motivation does not last long, neither does bathing."

I'm kind of trying to solve what makes me tick in terms of motivation and drive, because I know knowledge is not the problem, ideas are not the problem (got a few good ones I think) but it's taking action --->>> MINDSET. Gonna get that right and I truly believe that everything else will just work like BOOM <-- like that

    Juris, I think you're right.

I've lost count of the number of times that someone told me a quote/film/song/whatever has inspired them, and their whole life is going to change.

A week later, nothing's changed! If only it was that easy to change your whole outlook on life...

Having said that, movies are great for short term inspiration and motivation. My personal favourite is Cool Hand Luke. I must have seen this film 30 times at least, and that attitude of his never fails to inspire me. RIP Paul Newman.

There's only one thing that will get you to take action. You need a goal, a reason to do what you need to do.

Once you have this, everything else will follow.

This goal must be compelling, something that you absolutely have to do.

You can watch all the motivational movies ever made, read the most inspiring books ever written, but without that reason, without that compelling goal, nothing will happen and 5 years from now you'll still be wondering "why don't I do something about my situation".

Juris, take some time, think about that goal and take action.

    Hope this helps,

    • As far as movies that inspires me - I like Tylor Perry's Movies. I also like "the omega code".

There are more - but I can't think of the rest because of my love for horror movies. Overall, I don't watch too many movies or tv for that matter.

One of my all time favorites is "When Harry Met Sally". I must have seen this a hundred times! I can recite the scenes, and can even act out the diner scene where Rob Reiner's mom says "I'll have what she's having".

I believe in "Laugh Therapy". In the face of much adversity I have to say I never lose my sense of humor.

Another movie that I felt was inspirational was "The Ultimate Gift".

There are many more but those two came to mind for now.

    Have a sensational day everyone!

  • Scarface, the Al Pacino version. While I don't advocate illegal activity. Tony Montana certainly gets an A for determination. I also like Catch me if you can, as indesign mentioned.

"Blood Diamond" inspired me to have an ethical crisis. I have put my diamonds into a bank safe-deposit box until I figure out the best thing to do with them. I can't bring myself to condone the methods of harvesting by wearing the stones. I can't enjoy something that someone else may have suffered needlessly for. It's the same reason that I don't eat "regular" chocolate anymore.

Richgrad I have seen this video before and found it truly inspiring. Another movie I found to be inspiring is "Good Will Hunting" its the kind of movie that can really just make you think in a different way about how some one can be "destined" for one thing but completely want something else no matter how unorthodox.

Not inspirational but a few movies that left something with me.

Into the wild. Prob is my fav movie ever, maybe because I have introvert tendancies too but this is a great movie.

Point break. Just watched this again lately. Don't like violence in movies and there are some bank robberies in this etc.. but it works. It still has something.

The notebook. Romantic movie that has a magic to it.

Out of africa.Just watched this for first time tonight. Slow moving tale of love in africa. Some amazing scenery etc.. and am glad I watched it.

I've sat here for a while now trying to think of an inspiring movie I've seen and I just can't come up with any. Not much of a movie person. BUT there are dozens of books that tend to inspire me and have the same result that a movie would have.
