Are You An Amateur Or Professional Internet Marketer?

An amateur is defined as someone who does something without
formal training and usually, not for monetary purposes or gain.
It's not to demean or say that amateurs don't know what they're
doing, a lot of amateurs really do have some skills.

The difference is the amount of time and dedication to learning
about how to properly do internet marketing. Whilst an amateur
may want to improve his or her skill in internet marketing because
he thinks it's going to be something useful, a professional would
dedicate time and energy into studying the exact skills that he
needs to succeed.

An expert is a person who has extensive knowledge about the
subject at hand. A professional is the same as an expert except
that he's making a living from it.

That's the key difference - making a living from it.

There are lots of internet marketers who join in because it seems
like fun or it seems like it can be something that can get them extra
money. They come in, try pay-per-click, get some traffic, set up
blogs, a website, try to sell a product, call their friends, spam their
friends to visit their sites and the list goes on. After a while, when
it doesn't work, they just up and walk away.

And then there are "consumer" internet marketers who just buy
product after product, get free reports after another, join pre-launches
every time they come across it, purchase PLRs here and there and
then, at the end of the day, they put all the blame on the "gurus"
because they've spent so much time and money but got no results.

The Bible has a very apt Scripture: "Faith without works is dead"

Even if there's thoughts and dreams about making money, nothing is
going to happen when there's no work done! A watched pot does not
boil. There's no point just thinking about being successful, work has
to be done.

Decision + Action = Results.
Conversely, Indecision + Procrastination = Results as well.
And that result means wasted time, wasted money, wasted resources.

People who are serious about internet marketing are the ones
who truly make money from it because it's what they do for a living.
So can people truly succeed in internet marketing? It depends on
whether they're doing it for fun or they're doing it to make a living.
