What positive messages did you receive that influenced your identity & self-esteem?

Self Esteem is about valuing who you are or how you feel about yourself. As kids, we receive messages that influence how we view ourselves, some positive and some negative. Depending on the extent, it can be very inspirational or detrimental to us.

People with high self esteem believe they deserve to be happy and are capable of handling life's challenges and succeeding. They do not depend on pleasing others, how much they possess nor allow how well they perform to determine how they value themselves. I'm sure you'd agree that we owe it to ourselves to value who we are.

Some positive messages I got were:

You are smart: You are the best:
You can do it, don't give up
You go Girl
Keep your chin up

    I tend to say things like:

    -I'm a Boss

    And just remember that every decision I make is a learning experience. Therefore can make no bad decisions. Well of course I try to make the RIGHT decisions when it comes to business.

    the saying "challenge everything" "Yeah i know it's electronic arts slogan)
    tends to motivate me when things hit the fan.

    it reminds me that anything worth pursuing, is going be a challenge but the rewards are more than worth it.
