Can you please recommend any books to help with creative thinking?

Thanks

I can't recommend a book but know a foolproof way to generate creative ideas.

Find a quiet spot. Hold the thought that you seek creativity, then release it entirely. Sit still for 20 minutes. All sorts of thoughts run through the mind....let them go. Sit quietly and eventually creative impulses come to you.

I've written hundreds of inspirational quotes using this method, sometimes in 20-30 minute blocks. You'll receive an unending flow of creative ideas. It's tapping into Perfection. Practice it daily and see how quickly your life changes.

Dude.. I found this actually working!!

I'm not saying that I'm not creative... but there's just too much information coming into my brain everyday and that alone I think.. is a huge block that stops my stream of creativity.

Find a quite spot and stay still for a couple of minutes really help.

And I find adding this with a couple of breathing techniques (I read it somewhere around here as well) helps as well. It put away all the pressure.. and helps our mind focus on what we really want. This is exactly when the creativity started coming.

Try it OP.. You will find that you are probably the most creative person in the universe.

      ...
      This is great technique.
It is targeting to release mental blocks that are on the way to creative ideas.
I practice something similar and it works wonders.
As Don Crowther says "just do this".

You could try reading a book or taking a class on creative writing, or just try writing your own short story. I've been writing for a long time and have taken a lot of classes on creative writing, and I think it has helped to make me far more creative, both in writing and in every day life.

Creative thinking begins with your willingness to change something which you're doing in the same way for a long time and wish to see an improvement or a change. And to change something you don't need to change it completely -- you can start with little changes. As you've posted a thread titled as 'creative thinking' and not as creative writing or something else, it means there is something special in your mind for which you're looking for a key to generate some creative thinking.

Creative thinking is a process you can train your mind to do and its a phenomenal skill to have in marketing, particularly internet marketing.

The main obstacle to creative thinking is the daily constraints we have all learned or been taught over the years. You really need to train your mind to let loose of all constraints, this isnt an easy practice at first but you can condition your mind to do so after some practice.

Much of my creative thinking involves a couch, a whiteboard, and myself, thats it. I write whatever comes to mind, no matter how crazy I think it sounds. Everything is fair game and nothing is off limits.

good luck and keep practicing it...it gets easier

I would suggest that you work on getting rid of the things that are continuously putting stress on your mind. You better than I would know what that could be.

For me it it used to be making bill payments on time, and managing the basic finances, being over weight, and not going anywhere in accomplishments

When you are able to put your mind at peace then you can begin letting it running in certain directions. I get so many ideas in the morning or very early in the morning.

The time of 4:00AM is seen as a very auspicious time... I've read and have been told that is so because most people and animals are sleeping. So there are less brain waves going around that could mess around with yours. I've had this explained a while back when I was attending talking to my uncle that does a lot of yoga and is very spiritual and religious.

But hey, wither you want to believe it or not. The fact at the end of the day for me is that I get tons of work done from 2am to 6-7am in the morning. And I like it because everyone is asleep and I can power through things without distraction. Especially if you live in the busy city!

Another interesting point is that good physical health does wonders on your ability to think. Don't ask me the science on that but I would say the confidence alone will boost your morale and make you feel good. When you feel good, you usually have healthy modes of thinking? No?

Anyways, I don't want to rant.

    Kris,

When you have free time just pick up some hobbies that require creative thinking.

Maybe if there is a TV show that is particularly creative you could watch that and just pay attention to the creative process behind the show, reading and writing are both ways I have helped build my creativity, drawing or painting are good options. Basically anything that is the result of someone's creativity, you can scrutinize it, and learn from what makes it creative, and if you work on it enough, you can derive some creativity from that.

    Great points made above.

A lack of creativity is simply some blockage within you. That's why I suggested being still....it removes the blockage and tunes you in to the infinite flow of ideas which begs to be put into use.

I'd also make it a habit to read as many blogs and forums as possible in your niche. You won't run out of creative ideas when studying the creativity of others. This practice inspires me instantaneously.

In relation to Creative Thinking there are several things I will share with you:-

    1. Get your health energies high, so this means looking after your health with great food and supplements as required and have plenty of good quality spring water

    2. Do whatever it takes for you to be at PEACE. The most effective way is to have all your sub-conscious imprints (baggage) removed as this baggage blocks your creativity and causes useless chatter and chaos.

Please get more information on this from the thread I put up on "Perfectionism" topic today in the Self-Help forum here.

    3. Have quiet surroundings

    4. Focus on your area(s) of interest

    5. Let your passion and excitement come out in your main area(s) of interest

    6. Be solution orientated

    7. Write down solutions and ideas before going to bed .... let them "sit" overnight and you will very often find the mind has worked out any issues and given you more solutions first thing next morning when you wake up.

If you can't get to sleep at night because your mind is racing with ideas and solutions - you are being creative and you have solved your own issue!

Write down what your mind comes up with while still in bed before you get up ... you can so easily lose ALL the ideas otherwise as soon as you get up ... talking from experience! Just going from the horizontal to the vertical can cause a permanent loss of these magic ideas! It just does!

    8. Talk with someone else who has a similar passionate interest to yourself so you can both do some brainstorming together - two heads are better than one! Brainstorming is being creative ... as you are combining the power of FOCUS and PASSION in both of you or as many as involved.

    9. Only hang around positive, upbeat people

    10. Be very OPEN to everything, attached to nothing and be willing to learn and grow

    11. Get hold of Wayne Dyer's 8 CD set (not the 2 CD set) of "The 10 Secrets of Success and Inner Peace". Try Hay House for these. These CDs will be like GOLD to you and others who will love them as well.

Listen to them as often as it takes until you are sharing these 10 principles with others!

    12. TAKE ACTION NOW as this is what GIVES RESULTS

    13. Create a FRAMEWORK of your Life and keep adding to it things that you KNOW WORK! Constantly add more to this, refine, modify and improve it all the time, e.g. after you have listened to those CDs and apply what you hear, you will be a vastly different, more attractive & powerful person who you will love more and more.

    14. Quietly and to yourself, appreciate yourself more and more as you become more and more.

That should keep you going for some time so I hope this helps a lot of members. Please let me know how the above goes for you.

**** I will be releasing 6 brand new products very soon about becoming more and revealing the TRUE SELF and YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL ... and HOW TO HAVE the COMPATIBLE IN LOVE relationship .. so will keep forum members informed on how they can transform their lives so easily with amazing information and technologies.****

    Colin
