I was reading one of the books from Brian Tracy and he talks about how only 2% of the people are self motivated. In life to make money or to lose weight you need motivation and the person with most motivation wins.

In my case I do some thing ever day to keep me motivated, for example to keep me motivated to go to gym and work out hard, i will time to time go to wall-mart and walk around and look at the people who shop and remind my self that i dont want to end up looking like them motivates me, or going to Whole Foods store and looking at people who has built a good body and reminding my self that i want to be like that.

The above is one example, may be a funny one. What do you do to keep your self motivated.

I hold my vision throughout the day......every hour I take a break to see it in detail. No problems with being self-motivated since starting this practice.

Ryan is right on with that, once you have a system in place to keep you motivated, it will last a lifetime. It's just a matter of finding what works.

One quote that I found good and that's why I still remember is of ZigZaglar "Motivation doesn't last, but neither does taking a bath".
My motivation is my task list.

Some people find this strange...but I've been starting to do affirmations to help motivate myself and it's been going really well!

If your heading toward doing what you love its easy to stay motivated. Make sure what you are doing is for you. If it's a chore it's probably not meant to be.

I often find that when I am unmotivated, I also tend to be unorganized.

One technique that rarely fails to motivate is to organize my surroundings and get rid of the clutter. A clean desk and a manageable email Inbox is usually all I need to see the goal again.

Handle the little stuff and the big stuff becomes more real.

The best motivation tool for me is a simple reality check: bit.ly/umotive

Many people consider it very efficient. Some consider it brutal. But it's all about facing a simple truth -- none of us has time to do everything. And realizing that clock is ticking really helps to focus on goals that really matter.

PS. I wanted to post a direct link, but apparently I don't have enough post yet.

Hi! I find that my motivation comes by envisaging where I want to arrive...I think of my present state as one 'in transit' towards reaching my goals in life, especially to help my loved ones! It works best for me. I agree that being organized makes you motivated but then being motivated makes you organised too, so it kind of works both ways, lol!

Motivation has been with me for over 25 years. I have found that written down goals with a sprinkle of positive affirmations always works. Affirmations from my knowledge is a natural law that motivates the mind and heart to work towards a worthwhile goal. Positive affirmations can be used for all types of social, financial, service, educational, best family relationships. There are many more ideas of success.

i usually use a trapped condition, so if i don't take action today i will suffer. for me, this method seems more motivating than just repeat our goal

I'm a sports guy so everyday in the car I give myself a little pep talk. I do this out loud but to myself. I get pretty pumped up like this but not in a crazy way just in a laser focused way.

Well that is why 98 percent of people in this world own nothing. While 2 percent own it all. What is my motivation? To be a living legend.

Thanks for sharing this thread it's motivating in itself to be reminded and share with others!! All great comments here Warriors!!

Here's what motivates me: The world is better off having me in that top 2% of the people with money and power because I'm someone who will do good things for the greater good of all our brothers and sisters on this planet with the money and wealth I accumulate. Sure I'll spoil myself and take care of all my loved ones in the process

    1. the act of giving somebody a reason or incentive to do something
Since over 80% of our talk is self talk, a great motivational question for me is to ask "why should I do this?" If my answer is, "I shouldn't," then I am (self)motivated to move in a new direction. If I can list several positive reasons or incentives, the anticipated end result pulls me forward.
