We usually think of being efficient, or managing time well, or being focused. Being effective concentrates on doing things correctly.

Follow these tips to improve your effectiveness.

Carry Watch/Time Yourself

An alarm clock wakes up your thoughts.

Since timing my tasks things have flowed smoothly. I used to overwork, killing my effectiveness since I became burned out. Now I find the ideal balance between work and rest, leading to....

Rest Each Hour

I break for 15 minutes every hour. A still, relaxed mind produces creative ideas.

Getting caught up in a competitive "I need to outwork the other guy" mindset happens when rest periods are ignored. Don't think you can do this, because you can't. Take 5 - 15 minutes off each hour to recharge your thoughts.

Keep Your Vision Front And Center

....or you steer off course.

While breaking I paint a clear picture of my vision for a few minutes.

I then move into action toward the vision during my 45 minute work period. Works beautifully.
