One step at a time.

Take advice step by step, process it step by step and if it seems to make sense put it into practice step by step.

IM failures try to do things by skipping steps, trying to be a billionaire overnight. Chaos in the mind means you can't filter information and apply it properly.

Take your time with each bit of advice, read each article slowly and absorb the ideas. Some concepts will work, some won't. Just digest the advice and go about applying it.

That should keep you busy for about a few hours.

Once you are done with that, then I recommend you come back here and start reading some specific posts on SEO, article marketing, content creation, niche marketing, and so on.

Don't buy anything just yet. First, you really don't know what you need to know so forget all the hype. Most of the garbage that's advertised here isn't worth your time or your money. The sellers are looking for subscribers and not really provide information that you wouldn't be able to find for free elsewhere.
Second, once you know what you are reading about and have a better understanding of what you are doing, then find a product that you think will help you get to the next level. Again, forget the hype, go with your instinct. Most of the packages sold here are hyped up before you get to read about them so you really don't know if the package was even tested let alone looked at by those claiming to provide a review on them.
Finally, this is all common sense. What works, works, there are no tricks.
Forget the spiel everyone (including me) is providing you with. It ain't worth the time reading it. Just do it, and then test. Did it work? Tweak it and do more of it.
Did it work well? Tweak just a small bit and do a lot more of it.
Then test it some more.

Great advice! Yes... I think when you are new you do tend to overspend on different marketing products because you feel like its the only way and will provide fast results. Slow and steady wins the race though!!

Welcome to the board. Your in good company around here, everyone is always helpful (and sometimes a bit cranky) lol.

What I did when I first found this place (lurked for awhile) was just read, read, read. I read about everything and then finally decided to begin trying to make money with a method that I was interested in. I would encourage you to do the same and never find Plan B. Stick with plan A until you make it work!

As with anything in IM, the key and toughest part will be getting traffic. There are a million and one different ways to generate traffic, some free, some paid, some easy, some difficult, some autopilot, and some constant work.

My advice...

-Learn a little about the different traffic generation strategies
-Pick which one you want to focus on
-Start devouring all resources related to that traffic
-After a week, make sure your time is at least 50% dedicated to taking ACTION
-Keep plugging away. You will stink at first but thats how you get better


Lots of dedication and perseverence and you can be the internet marketing genius you set out to be!
