Did you see Breaking Through with Tony Robbins?

Wow! That was an incredibly emotional and amazing show!

It's so good and refreshing to see something powerfully positive on tv!

Did you see it? What did you think of it?

PS. by the way it was on NBC and will be on again next Tuesday as well.

I thought Tony was going to pour a glass of water over the poor woman's head when she started crying and getting into her negative state. I was really expecting him to pull off some crazy pattern interrupt.... maybe even the "Would you eat a bowl of live crickets..." one...

But Tony is amazing and did a fantastic job... it was a moving show and I look forward to the next.

I loved it. The BEST show I've seen in a long time. I was really engaged, inspired and touched all at the same time.

      Two thumbs up!

Is there any way to watch the show if I'm out from US? I live in NZ, but I love Tony's work and want to see how he change those bottom cases. I want to learn the strategies and apply to myself as well. I need a major breakthrough.

It looks like it will show up on Hulu eventually:

I Just read your post (thanks for reminding me) and went straight to Hulu to watch it... That man is my undoubted hero!

It just goes to show how much our limitations are only in our minds and how, if we're willing to look, there are examples out there that can push us past our pre-conceived notions.

    Thanks!

I thought it kicked Ass. I would like to see a follow up and see where this couple is at one year from now. What did this guy do for a living prior to his accident ? What does his wife do for a living ? How are these two generating income since the accident ? I have other questions but will stop here.

I realize it is a TV show but these thoughts crossed my mind.

I am looking forward to the rest of these programs.

Hey Mr. X, I had the same thoughts in my mind!

What'd REALLY be great is if the guy (in the video) learned how to walk again...that'd be a miracle, definitely!

I was really disappointed by tonight's episode - the family who lost their life savings trying to start a business that failed.

The husband is pounding the pavement, but there are just no jobs to be had. The wife is reluctant to get a job, not sure what she can do and if a part-time job will even help, and she's just trying to take care of the 3 kids and hold the family together.

They're in real pain with no visible way out. It's such a common story today. I personally see this exact story play out in my own circle regularly now. It's so scary.

So Tony first gets them to rebuild their relationship and helps them realize that having each other is the most important thing. Nice.

Then... he GETS THEM JOBS! I felt it was such an amazing cop out.

Tony, I know two dads who've been out of work for a little over a year now. Do you know any other (t.v. camera loving) restaurant owners who might have an opening?

I hope now that the cameras are off, Ron doesn't have a problem holding onto that job working for that prick boss. Cause if he loses that job, I didn't see any breakthrough that will help him to keep his life on track.

Rob - I had the exact same reaction. I thought it was odd to put a guy with little/no restaurant experience in a manager position of a high-end restaurant -

And I am all for striving for the best, bust your butt attitude, but I don't think I would work for that restaurant owner - too much of a d*ck in my opinion...

I thought the boss was straight forward - tough but probably gets results.

When you are given a new chance - no promise that it will be easy. The guy will either earn the job or he won't - it's up to him and seemed to be on his way to doing well.

I thought the episode last night was great - no nonsense from Robbins and some harsh reality for people who needed it.

I missed the first episode of this show (which is "Breakthrough") but will watch it again definitely. It's available on the NBC site, too.

Unfortunately, NBC has decided to cancel Tony's show after only 2 episodes (a total of 6 were filmed) due to low ratings. That's really too bad, since I thought the first two episodes were a great break from the typical shows on network TV, which should have been my first clue that the show wouldn't make it ;-(

      Canceled?

      &*^%$

There is so much crap on TV that I hardly watch anything. Then a good positive uplifting show like this comes on and it lasts 2 episodes.

Great now another slot open for another mindless sitcom or stupid beyond belief "reality" show

UPDATE: I feel so much better now. I just read that the show will be replaced by reruns of "Minute to Win It". %#$$*%)#*)

I think a lot of people probably saw themselves in the subjects of the episodes. That frightened them and they turned the channel to Big Brother, where they could watch a bunch of losers in a house bicker and act immature. Probably relate to that better.

The entire population will never be ready for Tony Robbins.

Face your fears? Take massive action? Get out of your comfort zone?

Nahh... I'd just rather cry on Oprah's sofa and have an audience feel bad for me.

    Sad.

I didn't like this week. Clearly you can see where tv meets fantasy. Give a man $100,000 a year job after he was fired within 30 seconds of working by your manager, (only to be rehired after the owner found out, thanks tv & tony). Then tell that same man your gonna make him a partner in your restaurant with his own restaurant in a year, (he hadn't did restaurant work in 20 years)? Heck I can't beg a person to give me advice let alone give me something of that magnitude. Good for TV yippeee!

WTF? The show is cancelled? How on earth you can cancel something which is so positive and uplifting. The people are more interested in seeing iraq war, than watching someone changing his/her life for good.

Thats why i guess people click more on negative headlines like "Michael jackson murdered last night".

    So sad.
