Yes thanks, I totally agree, thoughts become things.
That one is a very famous recording, Earl was one of the poineers of this kind of things, and one of the first to teach it, I love that recording.

      Thanks for sharing it.

Yep. A great film about this is: "What the BLEEP do we know?" I am sure some of you heard of it or saw it. It's extremely entertaining and quite an eyeopener.

It shows how Quantum Physics is actually able to proof these claims.

I just didn't like What the Bleep do we know. The quantum theory is interesting, however Masaru Emoto's snowflake photos shot the entire movie for me. The claim is just completely unsupported and neither he nor the producers of the film have any understanding of the scientific method.

It's great if you think in a positive way, but you need to also take action. Sitting on your butt 24/7 thinking "give me the Porsche, give me the Porsche" isn't particularly helpful.

Exactly. Here's the thing - it takes more than just very hard work... I know many people (myself included) that worked themselves into exhaustion without reaching their intended goals (or even coming near them). That's where concepts like The "Secret", "Think and Grow Rich", etc come about and can be helpful if actually put into play and used in conjunction with very hard work, networking, constant learning and a myriad of other things that you need to do to live the life you want.

It's becoming quite repetitive and annoying to see someone reply like this in every thread that talks about "thought manifestation." Only an idiot would think that they don't need to take action, so there's no need for people to keep screaming it in every one of these threads.

      I agree.

Every time there's a thread about "thoughts leads to success", somebody always have to reply with..."Ya right! Get off your butt and take action!"

By the way, I can't of any success guru telling you not to take action. Where do these people get the idea that's there's no action required?

Though i agree with you, if you look on the other side of the coin, there are the people who just learn about the ways of success yet struggle to achieve it themselves. If the reason is because of their lack of action then they beat themselves up for their inability to take action. What ive noticed is alot of these people lack focus... This whole thoughts become things idea is much deeper and much more complex than most give it credit for. There are alot of other factors that can lead to inaction including fear (even the unconscious fear of success its self).

So basically what im saying is the idea that thoughts become things can fuel you, However to get past any personal or impersonal obstacles you must have a strong call to action and this will drive you. But none of that is of any use if you dont know where your going or where you want to be.

But in most of these law of attraction /thoughts become things type lessons they hardly speak on the importance of a call to action.

It comes up because the Secret does not ask you to take action in a direct way. Most legitimate "success" gurus stress the need for action. There is a huge difference between the supposed LOA which is fantasy and positive thinking and visualization being used as a precursor to taking action. A real teacher teaches the later.

Checkout Bob Proctor. He was featured in the secret, however his courses teach training the subconscious mind as a way to improve your actions. Good stuff and IMHO it fills in the gaps that The Secret tries to fill with metaphysics and mysticism.

This reminds me of my favorite quote

Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become your character.
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.

The time to change your destiny is now.

"The Secret Of Success Is The Progressive Pursuit Of A Worthy Goal" - E. Nightingale.

It's not about wishing a Porsche and getting it. It's rather more about working towards having that car (through learning, advancing, failing, etc) through every day of your life.

And the "Progressive" part means that you should get better and better each day at it (or at least, put more effort).

I suggest you guys buy the Strangest Secret. It's less than $30 and it will change your life. I've listened it on my phone over 100 times in 2 years ... and it's the only true path to success I know (work hard, focus on what you want, don't accept failure).

    Take care,
    Howard J.

Thanks for sharing this great video, Michael. The human mind is infinitely capable, you really just need to guide it in the right direction in order to get going and have faith during this process, but this HAS to be followed up by action - there are way too many "law of attraction" fans that have twisted this concept around and basically misled people into thinking that all they need to do is have the right thoughts, and everything else will fall into their lap. As we all know, faith without works is dead, and we MUST follow up with spirited and passionate action in order to get the desires of our heart!

'Faith without works is dead.' A lucid, succint encapsulation of the essence of the thought/action debate.I am a workaholic, and I know that does not guarantee...I have experienced magic, however, when I coupled my power to sit on my a.. for hours with visualization.

I think the thing that is so perpetually attractive to many people about the concept of LOA without Action is that LOA can promise "success and nothing but success."

Action requires risk; namely, the risk of failure. And failure is something many people are quite afraid of. They would prefer to remain "sitting there asking for the Porsche" and blame the "system" when their wish does not materialize. Much safer, they believe (deep down, which is what is so sad), than risking failure by taking action of their own.
