How Do You Overcome Your Frustrations And Challenges?

Does it ever feel like pushing rope uphill?

I wrote this post to get your feedback on what you had to overcome and the mindset you had to have to push through to become a successful marketer.

I've been around the internet marketing game for quite some time. For the past two years I've sold creatively financed real estate using internet marketing techniques. Over those two years I have had many challenges:

- Purchased Infusionsoft for $5k set up and $300/mo and couldn't get my buyer agents to use it. After 6 months I realized the business model was wrong and Infusionsoft was not what I needed. A $7500 lesson (Cdn dollars)

- I changed my business model 4 times to get it right.

- I was struggling with the time it took to do some basic marketing online so I outsourced. I had a client who was a single mom, had a sick son and needed help so I thought it would be a win/win. I financed the down payment on her house, got her into a really nice place and gave her a job doing some of the basic marketing tasks. I found out after 9 months she was over charging me by over 300% , she trashed the house and defaulted on the loan. $12,000 lesson.

- I hired a programmer to make a WP site that would reflect my new business model. I took the advice of a well known "outsourcer guru's" and hired a person full time. I had to terminate them and start all over because everything he programmed was basically junk. $600 lesson and 2 months wasted.

- I finally found a custom WP theme I thought would work for me, hired a new programmer to make a large number of custom changes and after 2 months we conclude that certain critical components are not compatible with custom programming on the theme. Now my programmer suggests starting over and building a PHP site from scratch to have the same look and functionality as the WP theme we thought would work for us. $1,000 lesson and 3months time wasted.

- Technology has been a constant uphill battle. I know far more on the marketing side than I can possibly implement through technology and it's very frustrating.

I'm not looking for pity or criticism. I only state "some" of my challenges so you have an idea of my journey. My business plan should easily produce a $1,000,000/yr net once it's finally rolled out. I do my best to stay focused on the end goal. I believe in myself, in my abilities and I have a good support system. I will realize my business goal.

I want to know your journey because no one reading this post can truly appreciate your victory unless they know your challenges. I want this post to empower those who read it. For those of you who are successful (making a full time income online)

What were the struggles you had to overcome to get where you are?

What stopped you from packing it in when you faced challenge after challenge?

What was your mindset as you went through each challenge and overcame?

What is your lifestyle like now that you are making a full time income online?

What would you say to someone who is being tested by challenge after challenge knowing what you know now?

Thanks in advance

    Hi Mack,

My advice to someone being challenged is to decide to keep going no matter what.

The only way I overcame the challenges in my life is because I faced them head on and persisted. Eventually you see that every challenge provides with you an amazing opportunity which pushes you forward to the next state in your development.

    Hi Ryan,

I agree 100%. You stated a brilliant simplicity. Facing the challenge head on my seem frightening but that is the only way to find your victory. If you put your head in the sand you will never win.

What was your biggest challenge and how did you over come it?

You have to develop a mindset of overcoming challenges. This is key. There's not much more to it.

Positive energy and perseverance will trump any challenge you face, I believe. You have just got to keep going. Find the right people who will do the work you need and will do it honestly and for a fair price. Do not spend too much money before you make money, this is my philosophy. In the beginning I too wasted a ton of money. Now I am much more careful.

    Good luck.

What I do is take a short break and get back to work. I believe that everything happens for a reason and see every challenge and frustration as a possible lesson. Usually, the hurdle for me is mastering some aspect of IM. In order to do that, I have to keep moving. If not, I might as well give up. Right now.

What were the struggles you had to overcome to get where you are?

Too many to talk nor care to talk about. I will say that most were definitely
inner struggles I had to look dead in the face and decide if I was going to
    give up, or push forward.

I've pushed forward in nearly over every inner-challenge I had.

What stopped you from packing it in when you faced challenge after challenge?

Regrets. This the only thing. Knowing that if I had tried a few more
times and...had I succeeded...I would never know. Ever. Until my
    next lifetime.

I would rather kill myself than live with that because so many people
even today are dealing with wishing they'd done something they didn't
follow through with despite the tough times.

That would be a shame and disappointment not only to me, but my
family if I just gave up on everything that failed...even more than
    once.

What was your mindset as you went through each challenge and overcame?

Confidence. Certainty. Almost a sense of "carelessness" of outcome.

Expecting a positive outcome, but not being attached to it either
way. But confidence and a sense of "fearlessness" are the biggies.

What is your lifestyle like now that you are making a full time income online?

    Well, I don't make a full-time income...

    online .

Offline -- well, that's where I shine. Direct Mail is an incredible process
and business for me, as well as Real Estate. I am incredibly blessed.

What would you say to someone who is being tested by challenge after challenge knowing what you know now?

Keep pressing forward regardless. Always keep in the back of your
mind the feelings of regret, heartbreak, and a sense of loss if you
    DON'T follow through.

That will come back to haunt you, even before your time is up. I
can help you avoid major mistakes, but there are things you will
go through unique to you that I, nor any coach can control.

They are lessons that are inevitable, and you must learn from them
and grow to move forward. Enjoy the process as painful as it might
seem now, because you'll look back with success and wonder why
you even considered giving up on anything in the first place.
