What Do You Do When Appearances Scream at You?

How do you handle it when circumstances aren't conforming to your vision?

Ex - You affirm that you are a millionaire, yet you have $10 to your name and are deeply in debt. Or you are encountering some other potentially stressful situations.

Going within helped me immeasurably. Sometimes I spent days in quiet without contact with the outside world: meditating for hours, visualizing, affirming.

This changed my frame of mind which allowed me to resolve these circumstances while holding my vision.

You don't have to face reality, you make reality.

When I was young and foolish, I tried to work my way through these situations by force. I worked longer hours, worked harder and forgot about my vision, simply trying to overpower circumstances, which is about as useful as trying to overpower God.

Force negates. I usually wound up stressed out, angry and even more broke. Which took me down to a net worth of 39 cents for a while

So what do you do?

I use the Napoleon Hill method. With every adversity recognize that it carries with it a seed of an equivalent or greater benefit, a stepping stone to extended wisdom for greater achievement. Greatfulness, be thankful for everything + a positive mental attitude.

I understand the theory behind affirmations that emphasize your worth as a person, your better qualities, etc. but think they are often misunderstood.

When carried into fantasy, affirmations become nothing more than lies you tell yourself. Affirmations should leave your mind open to your potential but they don't magically fulfill your dreams.

If you have $10 in the bank - you know that fact. Telling yourself you are a millionaire isn't going to change it. Instead, an effective affirmation would be to believe that you CAN become a millionaire.

I'm not big on affirmations but I think they are best used to remove internal blocks that limit your potential. I've talked to many people who seem to believe an affirmation is going to create a reality - but they can be used to remove mental/emotional blocks that keep you from reaching your full potential.

Affirmations can help you cope with a fear of public speaking - but can't guarantee your speech will be mind blowing. Affirmations can open your mind to trying something new and daring - but can't guarantee the venture will be successful.

Patience. Unwavering commitment to the truth (that is, Reality, not my wishes or limited understanding of it). And the Law of the Farm.

    Hey Ryan,

The power of vision is about the expectations you have for yourself. The material manifestation process is a mere consequence.

You don't need a million in the bank to live like a millionaire experientially. The money is neither necessary nor sufficient. Think about it: Mariah Carey, Diddy, Will Smith and quite a few others have passed the $100m bar, and they still wake up at night, terrified and sweating, having had the nightmare of losing it all.

Nope. Money, even if it helps, doesn't quite cut it.

Also, when thinking like a millionaire, you will make decisions differently, accept things than non-millionaire thinkers would not and vice versa. The satisfaction that comes with it is what creates a fulfiling life.

One last point: money is a commodity, and just that. Like wood, gold or anything else. Not very interesting in its raw form, but useful if you have the goal to go with it.

Use money as such, like a tool. That's all it is. Let it be a representation of who you are is a foolish thing to do.

    Best,

    E.
