How To Guarantee You Take Action ...

As far as I can see, it's practically fool-proof. Which means I'll be using it. (Heh.)

[Edit ...]

OK. Basically, decide upon an amount of money to give to someone you know. And, then have them give it back to you only if you accomplish a goal. That's it.

Cheers.

What if you don't have money to give?

I'll give my phone to a family member?

then If I don't accomplish my goals I'll threaten them to give it back cause there is no other way to contact me in case of emergency! lol!

A variation on this theme would be to promise to give something of value to a loved one by a certain date, i.e. perhaps a five-star vacation/cruise or jewelry or something costing a fair amount that would be greatly appreciated by him or her. Hopefully, you'll not want to disappoint him or her, and you'll try your very hardest not to let them down by actually succeeding at the IM project/venture designed to bring in that money!

Well, that would work if it was a HUGE amount of money. Else, you won't care

So first thing to worry about is finding someone you trust not to run off with your money :p. Sounds like a good idea actually .

Set a SMARTER goal. I will only highlight the areas that affect action taking, you could find plentiful of online resources on this topic.
    Specific
    Measurable
Attainable - Make sure the goal is achievable with the resources you have. The goal must be reasonable, if you are not convinces the goal is achievable, try lower it to a level you are comfortable with. It really doesn't matter you only achieve a little, the more important thing is if you achieve your goal a few times, your procrastination problem will be cured. This is because you finally realise that if you take action, you will succeed.
Relevant - the goal has to be relevant to your overall success, if your goal is not relevant, what harms does it have if it fails. A goal to master for example photoshop to create a unique banner and email template for your campaign probably has more relevance to an overall successful internet marketing via graphics design rather than affiliate marketing.
Time bound - mentioned by Paulie888, if the goal is not time bound, it will take forever to achieve. Average people will "unconsciously" choose taking longer to achieve. So a goal with no deadline is as good as not having a goal.
Emotional - mentioned by Paulie888, the goal has to be emotionally attached I entered the internet marketing arena to improve my financial position so that I can give my kids more choice. I still remember the disappointment on my boy's face when I rejected one of his request, reason being there is a high recurring fees every month and not like there is anything wrong with his request.

Interesting technique, but I too think that it would have to be a large amount so that I felt the pain.

I am cannot stuff hinder me anymore from taking action. It is worse for me not to take action than to procrastinate now.
