10 IM Lessons You Can Learn From Albert Einstein

  1. Follow Your Curiosity."I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious." Curiosity fuels creativity. Keep digging at a niche that interests you and you will find a way to profit from it. If not… create a way to profit from it.
  2. Perseverance is Priceless. "It's not that I'm so smart; it's just that I stay with problems longer." This one should hit many of us. I see so many “newbies” constantly asking for methods and buying up the next get rich WSO, only to stop short of money and claim it doesn’t work. Most every method works and there is money to be made if we do not stop short of it and keep going.
  3. Focus on the Present. "Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves." Don’t do too many things at once. If it’s Auto blogging, stick with it. Don’t try to start up Auto blogging and CPA and Product creation all at once. Work on one project at a time. There will be other times to focus on other projects to add to your income.
  4. The Imagination is Powerful. "Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions. Imagination is more important than knowledge." Be creative. Be inventive. Don’t just follow every WSO word for word. Make it work for you. People ask for methods and blueprints. Others will happily sell them to you, but it is still only a blueprint of what worked for them. NOT YOU. So make it work for you use your imagination to create a system just for you.
  5. Make Mistakes. "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new." Don’t be discouraged if something doesn’t work. Test it again, than test another point of view. Keep testing and keep trying new things until you succeed. Edison once said after he failed over 10,000 times, that he know he MUST succeed because he ran out of the things that didn’t work.
  6. Live in the Moment. "I never think of the future - it comes soon enough." ACTION! Planning and dreaming is great! Set goals for the future but live in the moment. Do work today! Set aside some time and get things done! Every journey is just a collection of small everyday steps.
  7. Create Value. "Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value." Provide great value and your readers will know. Good marketing and sales tactics are great, but will create and provide a service of real value and you won’t have to sell your self again. People will come looking for you.
  8. Don't Expect Different Results. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Test everything. Even the efficiency of your life. What are you doing today that is different than yesterday? If there is no difference won’t your tomorrow be the same as yesterday?
  9. Knowledge Comes From Experience. "Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience." Reading and understanding the WSO is not good enough. It must be followed by action! Too many of us buy and read a method only to say “this can’t work” or “it’s played out!” “Too simple” … well even the simplest methods can have powerful effects if you put it to action. Do not judge with out first experiencing them first hand.
  10. Learn the Rules and Then Play Better. "You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else." This is a given. It’s the key to success. How can you say you have success if you still follow the “Gurus” around like little fan-boys. If you found something that works for you, make it yours. Give it a kick to it. Test and make it better. And give and teach to others.

    Thanks a lot for sharing this list.

    I remember when i was a newbie i kept searching for "the secret" but the truth is there is no simple way to make the big bucks over night. It takes time, lots of hard work, trial and error.

    The shortest way to success is to stick with one method and follow someone that has had success with that method. Thats how i did it, just copy other people that are success full. Do what they did and you should become successful. It is that simple!

    I agree with most of the things you're saying, however I see a bit of a conundrum in the bigger picture between the lines. First, we establish that we must adapt, we must remain dynamic and continue to grow. "Don't expect different results"... Tomorrow will be the same as yesterday if you do it the same.... Yet then, we should follow in the footsteps of others who were successful. No. Nevermind what anyone else did or what worked for them. Study the successful people, read the rules, the methods, etc, everything else. But then, when all is said and done you need to come to the point where you're ready, and you'll have to throw those ideas out the window. Back to curiosity, digging in YOUR niche... Finding what it is YOU really have to contribute to the world. Create and give value. It's kind of like driving a car... You learn the controls, the physics, get the feel for it, and before you know it your eyes are only looking at the FARTHEST point ahead. Your peripheral vision fills in the rest of the details. If when driving a car, when we finally get used to focusing ahead and anticipating and allowing our core systems to fill in the rest of the information.. Why would we do the opposite with business? You say slow down, live in the moment, focus on today. I say focus on the future, the goals, that point in the distance, and the rest will work itself out, as long as you stay focused and determined to reach your goals.

      haha i love this post. i actually wrote the parts separately. i have a thing of writing out how famous quotes can be applied to IM. sort of a way to motivate myself. from my collection i just picked out a few in Einsteins. i never bothered to see how it would flow together. but i think there is a helpful point in each of them.

      also, i wouldn't say throw out everything you learned. but to adopt them to fit you personally. in Martial arts you are expected first to learn under a master, copy and mimic. than, to master all the skills and than to change and improve. i was thinking along those line, rather than throwing everything out the window.

    I love the one that say "Focus on the Present", it is especially important to stay in the present as when you think of yesterday and all you didn't accomplish can make your day miserable instead of outstanding. I notice when I am in the "present" that each moment is important and it lets everyone around me realize that they are important to me.

    These are great lessons to put into practice Thanks.

    There are some great lessons in this list, thanks for posting.

    One of the quotes always makes me laugh, and it's the one about expecting different results, number 8 in your list.

    It's a great point yes, but there is no evidence of him ever saying it! In fact I used that point to write an article (it's in my sig along with another article about Lady Gaga's sweaty armpits).

    So I guess another lesson is to not accept something as true just because everyone accepts it as so - certainly true in the IM world!
