12 Months ago, I Swore I would never read self-help books again..but this happened!

12 moths ago I took stock of my life and discovered that I was reading every motivational and inspirational book I could lay my hands on. Name it, I had a library full of book from

Jack Canfield

Tony Robbins

Mark V. Hansen

John Mason

etc.

But while they got richer, I was stuck in one place.

So...I swore i was never going to read motivational books ever again.

And guess what happened!

After I made that decision...things changed!

I began to take real action towards my goals, I started a business I
had been planning for over 4 years!

In 3 days I made $400 from the business! (prior to that I was practically
begging my sister to feed me). Some of you who read a post I made in
August know the story.

Today I make at least $1,000/month from the business. And we're growing!

I was estatic. I was no longer 'reading' but I was suceeding!

But just two days ago, I CHANGED MY MIND!

Why?

I was surfing the net when I saw this guy Ivan Campuzano on his website
talking about his eBook called "How To Get Your Shine On: From The Inside Out.

I was puzzled because he just did not do anything we are taught on this forum

No big impressive benefit-hyped headline

No hardselling

No long-type salesletter with bullet points in the right places

Just a straight forward explanation about how to achieve more success in your life
by doing things differently.

Simply reading Ivan's message will convince you that he's made for the stars and he'll
help you reach there too.

As Oprah Winfrey exclaimed when she first heard President-Elect Barack Obama's
2004 Democratic Party Convention speech, "This can't be just politics. it's something much more!"

I said of Ivan's webpage, "This can't be just selling online. This guy really wants to help!"

So I plucked down the $20 for his eBook (notice he didn't end his price point with a 7, as in $19.97)

And when I started reading it, I couldn't put it (sorry my laptop) down till 3 am!

The eBook was breathtaking!

This guy should be up there with the Tony Robbins and Brian Tracy's of this world! He's totally it!

Before reading Ivan's eBook, I thought there was nothing more I could learn from motivational books.

Now after reading it, I realize there's still a whole lot I don't know yet.

Thank you Ivan for sharing your message with the world.

Thank you for adding a step, a leap and a bounce to my life.

P.S. [This is an ENDORSEMENT!] If you want to, check out Ivan's eBook, "How To
Get You Shine On: From The Inside Out.

Get it, I say. (I'm making nothing from it. Just his site)

Here's his website: How To Get Your Shine On: From The Inside Out!

    Hi

If stopping reading made you take action - and that worked for YOU - that's great!

Although i write the stuff for a living, I'm still an avid reader...and it's no surprise that Dan Kennedy says "Poor people have big TVs. Rich people have big libraries".

It's good that you've also found something 'new' that resonates with you an inspires you all over again. I always say that there is NOTHING 'new' where success is concerned - it's just the same, consistent, principles delivered in a different fashion.

A case in point was "The Secret". The concept of the Law of Attraction has been written about for hundreds (if not thousands) of years and it certainly not new - yet it struck a chord with people because of the way it delivered the message. It was certainly NOT 'A Secret'!

  • I too spend way too much time reading and learning and not near enough time taking action on the things that I am learning.

I went through a stage years ago of reading and watching every self improvement thing that came along.

Here I sit, all these years later, with the same lifestyle I had then.

Many , if not most, of the people that have become wealthy, did not get there because they were reading motivational books or making positive affirmations every morning.
They got wealthy because they made a decision and then took action.

The reason the self improvement industry is so lucrative is because of people like me. We buy every product that comes along, hoping for that "magic bullet" that will make us wealthy/healthy/wise etc.

We tend to do the same thing with trying to learn this internet marketing business. I, like a lot of you, have gigs of ebooks, videos, etc, etc on my computer. I have been reading and learning about IM for years. I am just now starting to put some of that into practice and hopefully will see the kind of income that I have always wished for.

Knowledge and information is great, but without action it does not put any dollars in your pocket.

( Now , if I can just follow my own advice......)

    luck

The law of ACTION is the only law I go by. And about Dan Kennedy's quote, I couldn't agree more. My big TV is my #1 detraction.

Perhaps you spent too much time living in theory and not in action.

I am sure that from reading all those books you learned a lot about success and about positive thinking and about taking life by the horns, but for whatever reason you did not act on any of the information.

You can hardly blame the authors....

What you are doing right now, is likely based in part on the information that you gleaned from those materials.

I say Gather as much useful information as possible (no, watching Friends is not gathering useful information) and then act on it.

That sounds like what you have done.

    Congratulations.

  • Great, you're on your way and becoming successful.
I think when a person lets go of other people's idea's they are then forced to come up with something better and original to offer.
Many times I wonder how many times are people going to re-invent the wheel. Maybe it's time to take off the wheels and fly !!

That was a very good assessment you made and I'll do just that.

Cash Blaster, your view rocks man!

    Thank you all

    • What really stands out is that results happened when you stopped reading and started acting on what you learned. But it's great to hear different perspectives on personal growth and there are many books worth reading. The quote from Dan Kennedy sums up well the difference between successful people and the rest.

Actually maybe you'll find that the richest people have actually written books as well as reading them!

      Best regards

I have clients all over the world and teach a wonderful technique that some say is the missing piece to all the self help book and methods out there. Our biggest problem is getting people to understand that we aren't promising a magic process to get everything you want. We are teaching how to stop negative and fearful thoughts, beliefs and programs that limit your world view and stops you from responding to your truest hopes, wishes and desires. Unless one takes action it is only wishful thinking. To take it a step further, one must be more than persistent in achieving one aims. It takes everything we were taught to succeed: Courage, self discipline, persistence ,a plan and a system and the ability to face hard truths with humor, dignity and grace.
