Napoleon Hill speaks of the Sixth Sense in Think and Grow Rich. He conducted imaginary meetings which a number of influential people over the course of history, seeking their counsel.

One technique I use to develop this faculty is focusing on a particular point in space for an extended period. This helps you to become hyper-aware of your surroundings. We tend to focus on physical things: chair, wall, etc. Trying to focus on a space in the invisible no thing improves your focus, allowing you to concentrate on things not readily picked up by the physical senses. You begin to gain a feeling that there's something out there, and this sensation is not picked up by the 5 senses. Kind of freaky, and cool too.

Do you practice developing your Sixth Sense?

    Hi Ryan,

Would this be the same as meditation or is the sixth sense you are referring to your intuition?

From what you say it sounds to me like the latter. If so are the things you pick up spirits on another plane or can you sense the way things will unfold?

Sixth sense is also called intuition. All of us are gifted with intuition or gut feeling. Some writers also call it as small voice in the head. However, most of us have muted this voice and ignore the messages. If we learn to listen to this small voice or gut feeling, we can tap into universal power that can guide us in every step of our lives.

To give power to the small voice within, we must stop the endless chatter in our minds. Quieten the mind and start listening to inner voice. It can change our lives drastically.

    Hi Vizier,

The Sixth Sense can't be effectively explained. I view it as tapping into Infinite Intelligence, so it's different from meditation or visualization.

    Hmm I see.

So what can you do with your Sixth Sense? Or what do you use it for?

Really? This is very interesting.. Look like I'm going to dig around and find out more about my senses. It would be cool if I could develop a new sense that I'm not fully aware of..

21 senses? Ouch, we are soooo far from understanding that many. Can you name of few of those other ones?

As Peter said, we have many senses that we use constantly, subconsciously.

One that I'm aware of is the proprioceptive sense, which is the sense of knowing where your body parts are in relation to each other. For example, being able to touch the tip of your nose with your eyes closed. This sense allows us to coordinate properly. It also explains why amputees can still feel their missing body part.

Also, there is the exteroceptive sense, which tells us our position relative to our surroundings.

The reason I'm aware of these two, is because I have a son with autism and he struggles with these senses sometimes. I think he uses them more consciously than the rest of us which reduces his ability. Can't be certain of that though as he's non-verbal so can't tell us.

If you have The Sixth Sense you will say...

"I see dead people... they are everywhere"

You may laugh but it's definitely true, if your 6th sense main center is on your eyes, just like my wife and daughter.

Unfortunately, I'm only sense the present of the dead which started as a pointed dot then become an hologram, which different with what my eyes actually saw a real thing. But I can describe whether it was a man, woman, kids, older people or what are they look like.

Just believe in one thing! There's nothing is impossible! when you're talking about your relatives or family who had passed away, believe it or not, the person you're talking about is somewhere near you..

I often think about those imaginary meetings Napoleon Hill spoke of...and I've tried it myself.

I have to tell you: if ABSOLUTELY works!
When I am in a bind, I imagine sitting in a meeting with a team of world renown (SP?) strategists and managers. Trump, Welch, Buffett, etc.

I imagine telling them my problem, and how they would answer me.

The answers are already in my head...but I (apprently) need to hear it from 'them'.
I now it sounds crazy, but it's more of a subliminal reminder that if I want to be as successful as they are/were, I need to do more...try harder..be more driven...etc.

    Whatever works, right?

I used to do that... But things get hard - Difficult to be persistent.

I could easily follow stuff for seven days but the eighth day, or the twentieth day I run into trouble and give up completely.

I used to make a list of people - Lincoln, Pagan, Gary Halber, Gandhi, Einstein, Bruce Lee. All of them are coming for a meeting and they talk to me. I used to ask them to develop some trait of theirs in me.

Only few people have been gifted with this ability. To communicate with the unseen. Most of these people are strong-willed and intellectual people. They tend to have greater senses and can caught any stimuli with ease.

Everyone have different 6th sense main center. Whether 'the power' it's in your hand, your mind, eyes, ear or in your words of speech. I know a friend who managed to combine all of it. He can cure a person only with his words. He can also travel outside his own body using his mind.

The sixth sense sometimes a give from the day you're born. But everyone can learn it, only need a guide from someone who already had the 6th sense. Why? Because if you explore your 6th sense by yourself, it will end up by going crazy..

Assuming the "sixth sense" is intuition, yes, that is a gut feeling.

I use intuition as much as I can. The only problem is that one can assume too much.

Question is how to channel it and how do turn it into a positive?

ooooooo, this sounds really interesting! I guess I've been using my sixth sense for a while - I tend to call it my gut feeling. And, it's nearly always right. Something else that always helps me is visualisation. If I'm in a muddle about something, then I take some time to think about how I want the situation to go and how I want it to end. I visualise on that strongly and that helps me focus on what I'm doing and how to get the outcome that I want.
