Thinking about those who became millionaires during the Great Depression. That's what motivates me now.

The financial instability motivates me, actually. I know that if I can make enough money now...I can really clean up with the low prices of real estate stocks and pretty much everything else. We are sitting on a goldmine and I just want to work harder so I can start having that gold coming my way.

Even if you're nowhere near becoming a millionere you should still be encourages. When other people are dropping out of the game, their void must be filled. That void must be filled by someone. Why shouldn't it be you?

After 8 years in this business, my motivation comes from creativity.

I can't draw or paint. Ask my kids!

I can't write poetry or prose. Ask my old English teacher.

But I am a creative person and I can express that through software development. Doing it excites me and I get enthusiastic about sharing it which is great from the business point of view.

It's an ever-changing world of new technologies, techniques, languages and tools.

It's not boring, honest. I love it!

      Cheers,

      Neil

Being able to work for myself in a manner that I find very appealing is basically what keeps me going. Not to mention that there is a very real possibility that I can earn way more working for myself at home then I ever did working for someone else.

    This is good stuff.

This industry, Internet marketing, is all about focusing on selling, so regardless of the economy / financial state of the world, etc. you find products and services to sell and market them to targeted audiences.

So re-charge those market & SEO research batteries and charge - - full-speed ahead, sword out, shield up Things you can do for this:

    1) Relax at a coffee shop and watch others job hunt in a mall, knowing you are going home to get online and get into the IM mode with no worries, 24/7.

    2) Help others less fortunate and see how lucky & blessed you are!

    3) Make sure the rest of your life is well-rounded and focus on other things, too: family, home, spiritual life, R&R (fun), etc.

    4) Type in "self improvement" and get moving: take new courses, learn new things, de-stress, eat better, exercise, etc.

    5) Get help with any of the above as needed. Seek help from mentors, coaches, advisors, outsourcing, friends, networking here on the forum, the SBA.gov, etc.

    What keeps me going?

Check out my profile picture. Those boys are my life. They definitely keep me going. Also, the stretching, growing and developing relationships with like-minded individuals to help with either my or their marketing efforts.

Business is a great source of personal growth. Personal growth keeps me going as well. It's good to keep growing. I don't think I want to stop growing. Not yet. Gotta keep going.

What keeps me going is that when financial disasters like this happen I know millionaires and successful people see it as an opportunity to purchase investments at heavily discounted prices. They remain calm and have a steady resilance to hang tough knowing that things will turn around. They never panic and neither am I. It is just another market cycle and won't last forever. You just have to stay positive

Dont worry so much about the instability. The main reason that there is economic troubles is because people panic and then cause it to happen themselves. Just keep on trucking and dont put a hold on your dreams. The situation around you does not stop you from achieving our goals!

    Just keep on truckin'

Time freedom is the biggest driver. Also knowing there are thousands upon thousands of people that will be coming online due to market conditions, layoffs, real estate collapse, etc. and they will all be looking for answers. There is a huge market opening up.

After having a $2mil/yr real estate bus. wiped out when hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, only to rebuild in Baltimore to have $500k profit wiped out due to one of the worst real estate markets in the past 60yrs (we're still selling properties, just not making any money) I was forced online to diversify our income.

It is probably the best thing that ever happened because the last 7-9 mos have been incredible. I've gone through a steep learning curve but now realize I can reach so many more people so much more efficiently and provide value in ways I couldn't do in real estate.

Yes, it's unsettling at times and yes it takes a while to figure it out (I'm still figuring it out) but I used to be a commercial diver working in the oilfield in the Gulf of Mexico.

I had probably half dozen times where I thought I was dead, and after coming back from those experiences every day above ground is a good day.

I focus on giving so much value out that it takes the focus off me and helps keep the fears, uncertainties, etc in check. I'm not perfect and sometimes the worry monster comes, but when I take the focus off me it's easier to focus on how I can do more for others.

Keeping this mindset will get you through any recession. Also Kiyosaki bounced back from a 1mil deficit and Trump bounced back from being down 1 bil. When adversity hits I remember those that came before us and their defining moments were what they did when hit w/ serious adversity.

This downturn has opened up my myopic thinking and in turn opened up a whole new world. Keep pushing and never quit. If you love what you do you will find the means to get to the finish line.

What keeps me going is my belief that after the age of about 15 years old, once you have the basic knowledge you need to survive, it all comes down to how strong one is mentally.

A study of past greatness reveals that a willingness to learn mixed with a little mental toughness and self-discipline makes the achievement of any goal simply a matter of time.

This formula applies in ANY financial market, any job market, any life.

What keeps me going is knowing that there will always be booms and busts but that is not what counts.

As always, it is your own contribution to your life that makes the difference and not the actions of others alone.

If you have done what many marketers do not do and ensure that you have prepared your mind as well as your business plan, then at times like this, that preparation pays off.

Unfortunately, those who go into business without mind preparation, or even a start on it, tend to be the ones that get scared and nervous at times like this and pull out and go back into the workforce - therefore benefitting the likes of you and me who are strong minded enough (or as my brother would say strongfident enough) to keep going.

What keeps me going with all the financial unstability is that since our thoughts become things, if I were to focus on the financial unstability--that is what I am going to get. Instead I focus on financial stability among other things and that is what I get. Also, being happy and grateful no matter where you are in your life, opens your heart to bring even greater things to you. Knowing there can be another way and when you get an inspiration to do something comes to you, taking massive action to achieve it, will defintely make a HUGE difference. I also believe that customer service is so very important even more so now.

The top 5 things that keep me going!

    1. My vision for what I want my life to be. I believe that we either spend our lives achieving our goals or the goals of others. It's up to us to choose.
    2. An unflinching commitment - I decided long time ago that I would never give up, not matter how bad things got. And things got really bad and the only way was to keep going. When you're going through hell, keep going! Why would you want to be stuck there?
    3. "When you're down, you reach for another dream." A speaker I heard said that and I remember those words always. I do believe that tough circumstances and challenges come to us to help us grow and to test our commitment to our dreams.
    4. My family - I am blessed to have a loving family and I know that all they want for me is for me to live the lives of their dreams. My belief is that we are put on this Earth to live the life of our dreams. Anything less for me is to a slap in the face of my creator and a disgrace to my family.
    5. The alternative. What's the alternative to living the life of our dreams? To give up and be ordinary? To live a life of "quiet desparation" secretly wanting more but being too scared to go after it. If I live to 100, and it takes me 99 years to achieve what I want to in life, then that 1 year would still make the previous 99 worth it.

    Hope that helps.

It is something outside of what we can control so there is no point worrying about it. Why not focus that energy into something that we can control? Such as creating a profitable business?

What keeps me going? My goal to achieve financial freedom at whatever cost.I have written goals that I look at eveyday, I review my goals monthly at the beginning of each month. I also viusalise the life I want to have and live and that really keeps me going through all my ups and downs.

Sometimes I really feel like giving up and I walk away for a few days or sometimes even a few weeks. But I always come back to my internet business because I know that when I succeed, it will give me the life I want-freedom to travel and live in various parts of the world

Recession? Unlike the majority of people, I dont even want to go there. My motto "I refuse to take part in the recession". I really believe that I can make it irrespective of the economic cycle. In fact, from what I understand, a lot of wealth is transferred in bad times; and I aim to be at the receiving end of the wealth transfer!

Another thing that keeps me going is my faith in God and myself; without which I wouldnt be where I am today!

There are opportunities for everyone in any market. Even bankers who are made redundant have a chance to finally have the courage to follow their dreams and do something perhaps more creative with their work. Many city workers do not enjoy their work and secretly want to do something else like writing.

For IM, there are also opportunities like saving money at home and making money from home markets.

The current economy motivates me more than ever because I can see the stress it is causing my husband and son. My husband is concerned about losing his job. My son is concerned that a loss in our income could mean we ask him to defer going to college, so I'm bound and determined to make enough $$ that both can feel we have some breathing room.

At one point I must confess that I envied women whose husbands earned a lot of money... because they could afford things I couldn't and didn't feel financial pressure. But now I realize that this financial pressure has caused me to stretch and entering marketing in a way that I NEVER would have done if I had a nice comfortable life where someone else was supplying everything that I wanted.

I'm going places that I never would have gone if times and life were easy.

I always remember that of all the forces in the universe, the one that has the most power over my life, is me. No matter what happens, I am the master of my own fate.

I believe that even if the world were going up in flames around me, I would still be able to prosper through my unwavering focus on creating the reality I choose.

Everyone is getting caught up in all this economic downturn nonsense, because they are allowing their focus to be diverted. Instead of thinking about creating prosperity, the fear mongering in the media distracts them, infects them, and gets them focusing on the disintegration of their wealth.

Every person has the tenacity and will to live that is endowed on each living creature in this world. Just think of the little blade of grass that goes against all odds to find the cracks in the pavement. That's how I see myself.
