PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

I was at the store and the cashier was ringing up my groceries and then I paid for them and then at the end instead of saying "have a nice day" she said "MAKE IT a nice day".

And I got to thinking.....yeah, we have that power, don't we? We can choose to make it a nice day or make it a terrible day but it's completely up to us how our day goes. Even if all of those little annoying things happen like you stub your toe or you spill coffee on your shirt, your attitude can still MAKE IT a nice day.

I thought that was really clever coming from a girl who was probably no more than 17 years old.

Nice quote, and that is a good way to think about it. It's totally in our control, and a lot of the time it's how we react to a situation, whether it be business or personal, that determines whether our day is nice or lousy.

I like to listen, intently, to anything a child might say. I'm not perfect; it is a conscious effort. But every time I do, I learn Universal truths.
