Has anyone here leaped from 'employee to entrereneur'. What was your experiences both good and bad. Are you making more now then working for someone?

I think this is the dream of many people. However the journey is tough and i wonder if can use the word leap. It has been a slow process to build websites, promote them and get affiliate commissions. It demands hard work and unwavering dedication but it is certainly worth the effort especially with the freedom that it brings..

I certainly did not leap. It was a long road, and one I straddled for some time before finally leaving the "day job." I was insistent that my business not start out in debt, so I had to fund the start-up myself and not give up my "job" income. That allowed me to continue paying monthly expenses without them becoming an undue burden on the business, thereby allowing the business to grow that much faster.

I have personally worked for corporations for the last 10 years mostly in professional sales gigs. During the recession of 2009, I took a new look at what I really wanted to do. I started my own skincare distribution company and never turned back. This journey for me was a rollercoaster ride but more importantly it was a mental battle to see how badly I wanted to be a succesfful entreprenuer. Many days I would cringe seeing my debt levels rise and my sales drop. It was an experience that has shaped me and helped me understand a new business, new model. Currently we are doing quite well with the business, I am looking at many new IM business models I am at a point now where I am definitely making more money than I was being employed but it took me a grueling 18 months to get to this point. But that is not the reason I am here, I think the biggest thrill is working for yourself and having the freedom of choice. I am happy I never turned back and I am still a student of this game. But I am my own boss. Hope your journey is successful as well! Keep your head up and remember that most of this is a mental battle. Focus on what you want with a strong enough action plan and all obstacles will be small.

I am still an employee right now but I guess there are lots of warriors who are entrepreneurs already. I hope they share their experiences here.
