First Impressions - A Reminder To Us All

Have you ever wondered what peoples impression was of you? Well I can tell you when you meet someone for the first time, in the first few seconds they can pretty much tell what kind of person you are. Or at least they perceive what kind of person you are. It is all in your body language and what comes out of your mouth that makes a first impression. This is what happens when you are out there in the real world.

Now from my experience here in the virtual world of the internet it works about the same way but a little different. How you come across to people via instant messenger or video conference or even email can give people an idea of what you are about. Your conversation can signal to them "oh he is trying to sell me something", or "he is trying to get me into his program".

It is very important that you make a good first impression because it will follow you here on the net like the PLAGUE. Here is an example. Not to long ago my partner and I owned a program that was doing quite well. Another partner that was involved left us and started their own program taking a lot of the membership with them. Anyways the program started to fail and we had to make a decision .

We could close the program down and keep the money that we made, or we could close the program and give a percentage of the profits back. So we chose to be ethical and we gave every person who didn't make a profit a little bit back. In the process we got the reputation of being fair owners. And now 90% of the people sent emails thanking us. It wasnt about the money,it was the ethics behind what we did.

Now anytime that we decide to do something program based or sell products or what ever we do people know that they can trust us to do the right thing. So it is very important in your marketing that you present yourself in a professional and ethical manner. Like I said before it will follow you.
