Alright folks everything is going good the flow of the business is good. I have an awesome team. But I still have this money makes me happy problem. When money is coming in I'm good energy is up, but when we have our slow times and money is short I go into a mini depressed mode losing my energy. I know I make my happiness without money, and I really do feel good about my life. But I have a problem with money. I need some advice on this one. I beat half the battle realizing that I have some money problems. Read T Harv and it did help a little. I thinking it's a patience thing? But would love to hear your thoughts on this? Thanks

P.S I Love Money haha.

Are you sure it is the money and not what it stands for?

Breaking free of the "money=happiness" frame of thought can be extremely difficult. Especially living in the United States. If there was ever a more misrepresented notion that is reproduced in virtually every part of modern day society, it is money=happiness. I think the way you describe your situation is probably very similar to most people. As amo992 stated, money means a lot of things to different people. First and foremost it means security and not having to worry about engaging in basic survival needs such as finding a warm place to stay and having enough food. Beyond that, money means success to most people. Explaining to someone that you are poor but have been incredibly successful would probably make their eyebrow raise. These are all norms that have been ingrained into us. Take a step back and appreciate life for all of the free things and how you would find happiness if you were broke. Appreciate the warm sun on your back, the unconditional love from your pet, being in good health or whatever you are blessed with. If you are able to appreciate the finer points of life, the ups and downs of your finances will not have such control over you.

One thing that may help is to try and detach your emotions with materialistics things. You want personal influences to determine emotional state, not materialistic influences.

Money is nothing. Its threads and metal. What you really need to focus on is your emotional intelligence. Understanding where your emotions are coming from, how to control them as best as possible, how to re-associate different emotions with different things, etc

It can be done with some training. Best of luck!

Awesome guys thanks. Money for me is success, and freedom. If I could have freedom without money I would do it in a heart beat. But I can't fly to Spain with zero dollars. So it's more about freedom for me. I feel limited when there's no money around. But yea i'm working on detaching this dumb problem.

At least you understand that freedom is where the happiness is derived from, not the actual money. Thats the first step!

Next, I think its important to realize that freedom isnt necessarily jetting around the world or buying nice cars...there are ways to get that same sense of freedom for free.

Glad to see things working out!

I agree, freedom is nowhere but your own mind. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing in Spain that's going to make your mind feel more free. It's your worries that will have you chained down, wanting more money.

it's all about the mindset. Be happy with "just enough" and you'll never have your emotions go on a roller coaster over money or what have you....

I just noticed you're from Vegas. I am too and certainly where we live doesn't help with what your describing. But it's true, you could fly all over the world and still feel trapped and a slave to money. It all originates within your conscious mind and what thoughts you allow to be absorbed into your subconscious. If you continually allow yourself to produce thoughts of fear and necessity for money, you will feel and react accordingly. Think of it as a circle that goes round and round. Thoughts-->Emotions-->Behaviors and back around again to your thoughts.

I'm obliged to a British entrepreneur, (who is a millionaire as it happens), for this way of looking at money and your emotional attachment to it:

He asks a simple question. If I offered you a million pounds - or dollars, I don't care - right now, would you take it?

Of course you would! There is only one condition, and if you accept the condition, he says he will give you another million every year for as long as you accept this, okay?

The condition is that you must live completely alone on a desert island. You will have all the food and shelter you need, but there will be no means of making contact with anyone else and incidentally, nothing to buy!

The point is, it isn't money you want. It's the resulting lifestyle - and perhaps power - that it brings, but it is useless if you have no way or intention of contributing with it - even if that's just your spending power, (which keeps people in jobs!).

Money doesn't make you happy. Being free to give of yourself is what does that, and when you have plenty in the bank you are so much freer to do just that.

I believe that's where the confusion lies.

    Hope that helps!
