Hi, Just read your post, are you and I related by any chance

I have been struggling for the last 2 years, very similar story to yours.

What makes my story even stranger if that is the right word is that I have been very successful outside in what i refer to as the real world for over 40 years, but my transition to the Internet has been rocky to say the least.

I deal with time management, productivity issues, as well as helping people get started in their own internet home businesses. go figure.

My advice is this;

1. Stay very focus, very narrow, the Internet will gobble you up and spit you out if you try to spread your wings before you are ready. One small project at a time, get it up and have some traffic and some success before you go on, if you go on.

2. Go original or go home. Despite all the hype about plug in sites, pay per click sites and their ilk, if you have to piggy back on someone else s products and sites for all of your income, you are headed for some incredibly long adds to succeed, despite all the hype and buzz out there for the contrary.

Lastly, yes it is a struggle and a long one at that, the prize at the end of it all could be worth it, may be worth and should be worth it depending on the time, effort and time you invest.

My words of wisdom to you:

A lot of sales copy I see never directly asks for the purchase.

If you're selling your own information products or promoting someone else's (and for some reason, that marketer didn't give you a pre-designed web sales package) don't be afraid to cement the sales by asking for the purchase once you've piqued their interest with a sales letter.

that is a great thought, inspiring! People now a days are in modern word and they do selling more in internet that is why marketing people exist now in the internet, if you dont have too much knowledge in making different stuff of marketing you can get different advice from forums and you can ready their ideas, thoughts with bad/good experiences.

I definitely find that I am taking all kinds of courses and listening to webinars, but they are all starting to say the same thing. The most important thing, I am finding out, is to pick a direction and go with it. I want to do affiliate sites, blogs, and sell e-books. I get scattered when I think about it all...however, I have decided today to pick one direction, and stick it through. Also, I am setting up a daily ritual - things I must do EACH day to make this thing work. Time to stop learning and start doing. I just started about a month ago, and I have discovered this is a lot of work! But like you said anything worth having is worth working for...I want a job I can do from anywhere, that is my motivation. I don't mind the hours, I just want to be free from a place. Here goes! (I have to stay out of this forum because I actually think I could stay all day here....need to limit my time in the forum!! So much info!)

As someone who has successfully avoided success online for 4 years, last month I wrote an article on Wikinut called the Paradox of Internet marketing which clarified for me where I had been going wrong.

You are taught to pick a niche to focus on and then you are encouraged to learn every specialism in Internet marketing!

You cannot be an total Internet marketer as there are far too many skills to learn, play to your strengths and select the element of Internet marketing that will bring you success in your chosen niche.

For me it is writing, no more hunting for new systems just focus on improving my content creation skills and use this to help those in my niche.

I'm no guru, but I have been dabbling in internet marketing long enough to know that trying to learn everything will cause you to finish nothing. I can't count the number of emails I get everyday for a shiny new technique, or the next latest and greatest software tool to make you millions overnight.

Find a technique that works, and master it. Work it till you can do it in your sleep. Just having that dedication and focus will give you all the success you could ever dream of.

Here is something I urge every newbie to follow. Pick one email newsletter that you want to pattern yourself after. Make sure they provide great content and are ethical when it comes to promoting to you. Once you find that Choosen one, unsubscribe from all the rest. There is so much information out there both good and bad, you don't want to be running around in circles just to find yourself back at square one 6 months from today.

Okay here is something that I want you to never forget. Sometimes success or progress is something you will not see with your physical eyes in the beginning. Do you know the defintion of faith? Faith is believing in what you can't see.

When you start out with internet marketing, it may seem like you are waisting your time. You're doing all this hard work, but you don't SEE anything with the physical eye. This is not the time to give up. You must use that inner voice of confidence from within telling you that "Hey I may not see myself making progress, but I know I'm making huge progress."

I'm no guru, and I'm not a millionaire, but I do know that this system works if you apply yourself. Don't focus on making tons of money. Focus on your first sale. That first sale is such a major ego builder. If you can make one sale, you have achieved what many other internet marketers only dream of. Here is the secret. Once you make that first sale, repeat what you did for a second, a third and a fourth. That's it!!!

Much appreciated advice, comming at a very low time for me. I have just created 5 websites and I am just so swamped with work ,trying to bring each page up to an A+in onpage SEO. and having to write and post articles on a daily basis. 4 months of continuous work, work work, and no sales as yet. I was beginning to wonder if it would ever happen. Thanks for the encouragement.

I admire your hard work and dedication. Here is my advice to you. Stop trying to become a millionaire overnight. You said you have 5 sites going at one time and no profits coming in. Take a step back and try to get one making you money. I know a lot of gurus teach you to build, build and build some more. If you are doing everything yourself, you are going to burn out.

Take your time and focus on one site at a time. You have all your hard work spread out over five different sites. Combine all that energy into one site at a time. Once it starts to make money, move on to the next. I hope this helps. See you at the top!

Exactly, internet marketing is a real business and should be treated as such. During the initial set up phase, you might have to sacrifice niceties like a full night's sleep, your favorite television shows, socializing, etc. but it'll all be worth it if you stay the course and do not waver.

All those nights with no sleep will be a thing of the past once you stick it out and get everything going. It amazes me how much time we can waste on a regular basis. Here is a little tip that I use all the time. When I'm getting ready to do something, I ask myself is this going to make me a better person in the future? You will be amazed at what you can cut out of your life in order to achieve those goals.

Here is another important tip. I'm not trying to be mean, but sometimes in life you have to part ways with certain people. Those so-called people that you call friends. If they are not adding value to your life, you need to move on. Sometimes it hurts, but if you know that you want to go places in life, sometimes you have to let go of the dead weight in your life.

  Have you ever noticed the determination of the little poodle. He barks and barks and charges at the Doberman. No matter how big the opposing dog happens to be, the poodle feels as if he can conquer the world. He feels that success is already his.

  If you want to succeed, you have to make a complete change from the inside. Time to change your mindset. Try something different. If you want new results in your life, you need to start taking chances. Step out your comfort zone and let this month be the month that you chase down your dreams. Frank Kern said that the secret to internet marketing success is...persistence!

He started out using a laptop in a laundry room at his parents house, and now makes tens of millions of dollars.

If you fail so much that you can't comprehend success, ignore that and keep going. Just keep telling yourself that logically if l keep going, trying new things and changing course when you have thrashed it, then success is inevitable.

Physically success is easy, mentally or emotionally is can be hard. That is why successful people seem very sure about their abilities, because they ploughed through their mental barriers and grew as a result.

That is true, Baker, (if you are still around) if l concentrate hard enough, then even a dead horse, might spring back to life and people world wide might become smarter?
