I don't want to brag but......

I see this phrase crop up so much in sales copy and i can understand it when you are tying to sell to a market that might not have had the success you have.

But i've also seen it starting to crop up in posts on here.

Why on earth do we feel the need to downplay success. If any group of people should understand the joy of making some money online it should be us, and we certainly shouldn't be tearing folks down for making money

if you've made money you should shout it out from the rooftops round here. Personally I find it inspiring, and i think it could help others who haven't yet seen the light at the end of the tunnel.

So to all those that are making money - you should feel proud of your achievement, and I applaud you.

I'm making sod all right now - i'm in the early stages of my plan, but I'm going to be vocal when I get some success.

Agree. Its fun to hear about the various ways that people are making it work. Especially in a nice humble type way. I assume that people who make it were once in the same place as the people who are new/haven't made it work yet...

Yes, its good to hear about people doing well in their work. If we do achieve it, with a humble and gratitude fulled heart, we can acknowledge our success and share that feeling with others.

You're absolutely right. People suffer from being embarrassed from making money or telling others about it. No need to brag but show others what they can achieve too.

I'm still abit like that but I'm learning.

success stories serves as motivation; I think bragging is when you only talk about the end result (how much you made), and not share the trials and errors you encountered on our way there

Yes, a succes story and bragging are two different things. If someone's story is at the point when it is just annoying (bragging) then it is not inspiring anymore.

If U succeed and it gets on the way of others who have not had it like you did, all well and good. We could still learn from you, 'how not to blow the trumpet'.

Many people don't see themselves as being "successful" or capable of generating great wealth. So when they hear about it, sometimes, it annoys them.

Bragging and sharing your success to inspire others are two different things. When people read about other people's success, they tend to compare. But this will not be an obstacle if you can make them relate to you. If you write about it in a personable way that they can relate to, they will feel inspired and get something positive out of it.
I dislike the phrase. I think it should be clear from the way you write that you aren't bragging, no need to point it out.

This is a good point to make. It is a difference of situation that I think causes the change in mindset. Before you become successful, that is all you really want because you don't have it in your life yet. But after you do have success, you don't really need to brag about it. You are able to do more things you like and have things that success brings you. You can enjoy your success without bragging about it, because you don't need to
