Last night I said thank you with my heart, not my mouth

I have been studying PMA and similar techniques for years now, and have gotten into a good habit of thanking and being grateful. In spite of this, I find myself a college graduate working a highschool dropout job, for highschool dropout wages, while trying to build businesses that no one seems interested in. I remain positive most of the time except for my downswings(bipolar type 1) and am able to see clearly the end result of prosperity. Yesterday I received an e-mail from someone interested in hiring me to do their advertising, (it's my primary focus right now, using the skills I learned in school and my short lived dream career) and when I said thank you, I became so overwhelmed I nearly cried. That has never happened before. I am always sure to feel feelings of gratitude when I say thank you, but never were they so intense. I have tried to hold on to these feelings all day, with some success.

Does anyone know any way I can maintain this feeling when I say thank you all the time? I think it would intensify the impact on my life and help to achieve my goals faster, (note: I say thank you for things I have and for things I want but do not yet possess).

Maybe creating a ritual can help with this task.

There are two simple things that I do on a daily basis.

    1) When I wake up I recite to myself "I'm grateful for this day and the opportunities it brings. I plan to use this day to express myself and to help others."

    2) Whenever I eat I repeat this mantra: "I'm grateful for this food. May it provide me sustenance for wholesome thoughts deeds and actions and the removal of unwholesome thoughts deeds and actions. "

Anyway, maybe finding your own personal mantra for something that you are grateful for can help.

Great suggestions. In addition to that, I also like to reflect on the events of the day right before going to bed, and have a strong sense of gratitude for everything that I was able to accomplish on that day, and what it brought me.

I think at times we are more grateful and more emotional than others. Just like some days we feel fantastic, and others a little less so! Be appreciative of when you really feel appreciation, and try and feel it and hold onto it in your day. How? Practice feeling the joy within your heart, being in the now, and really feeling appreciation from the heart! I think some days you will be better at it than others, but if you remember to look for the gift, and feel from your heart, you will enjoy each moment.

I am aiming for this too!

I think the biggest advantage of attitude of gratitude is that it takes away lots of bitterness and negativity from you. You stop complaining and become more positive.

I'm a little confused about what you are asking here. I just want to say this to you. It's good that you are a person that shows emotion. A person that when they say thank you, you mean it from the bottom of your heart. Do you realize how many people in this world that are fake? People say thank you everyday and don't really mean it. People say I love you numerous times a day and don't really mean it. People walk around asking how is your day going and don't really give a crap how that persons day is really going.

Being humble and thankful is a long lost quality in many people in todays society. When you appreciate and are thankful, you have a passion in whatever you do. Having that passion will cause you to go above and beyond of what is generally expected of you. When you do this, you will begin to standout from the average individual and excel in everything you do. People will begin to take notice and this will cause you to become a rare and much desired worker/friend/spouse etc....

One more thing. Continue to say thank you for the things you have and don't have. Did you realize you can speak things into existence. It's the powerful law of aspirations. You know the saying, "As a man/woman thinketh so is he/she will be." When you speak out loud and believe what you want, you release a spiritual energy that no person or nothing can stop. Results may not happen overnight, but if you keep at it they will come into existence.

Sad but true. Many people go through the act of caring and yet don't really care at all. They are too wrapped up in themselves to care about those around them.

There is a great book called the Power of 2. I think people commenting on this posts may enjoy it.

Thank you for all the great posts. I truly do appreciate it. For GrisbyEnterprise, I will clarify. Usually when I do my daily "thank you"s I make myself FEEL grateful, but the thank you I gave for my first prospect was so much more intense. I want to know if I can replicate that intensity. I know that being grateful for everything cues the universal intelligence, my vision of the divine, to bring more into my life. My belief, after the intense feeling, is that being more grateful will expedite or maximize what is brought in to my life. I apologize for the lack of clarity, I posted shortly before bed last night and was quite tired.

Also, thanks for the book mentions, more to add to my library, about half filled now with PMA books, the rest are mostly business books, and yes, I do actually read them.

Love and peace and prosperity to you all.

I know from personal experience sometimes saying it either in my own mind or even out loud that it does not always carry that weight that it should.

Now I know this sounds very similar to another very popular method out there... and it is... but having something physical you can focus on that in your mind symbolizes your gratitude. One of the most popular methods is just a gratitude rock. Something small you carry with you that you can see and feel in your hand every time you want to remind yourself just how grateful you are for what you have.

Some people take it a step further and create personal designs or artwork that reflects how grateful they are. It does not have to be complex, and for every person the design will be different, but almost like a personal symbol or sign of gratitude. I have even heard of people going so far as to use their designs as company logo's, on business cards or in art they display in their own homes.

That way no matter where you look or where you go, there it is, your personal symbol for gratefulness.

It is nice that you are grateful and thankful. Another thing you could do is send hand written thank you notes to individuals who have helped you in a major way.
