Milestones for 2010 and Challenges for 2011
First of all, I just realized that I'm a heck of a lot more responsive to the word "challenges" than I am to "goals" or "resolutions". Also, I noticed that I can almost never resist a "challenge". And yet, I keep calling all my to-do list things "goals". I must change this immediately. If the word "goal" doesn't get me to follow through but the word "challenge" almost always does, who am I to stop it?! I'd rather work WITH my subconscious than fight against it!
Anyway, social accountability is a great way to keep motivation high, so I thought I'd start off the topic for this New Year's "Challenges" that we'll all face. Remember what your milestones were for 2010, and use that feeling of accomplishment to push forward the courage to ask for what you truly want in life...and then, take steps every day to achieve it.
Milestones for 2010:
- Fell in love.
- Got married.
- Lost 20 lbs. I personally think it's the sex...ercise. Sexercise. I should market that somehow.
- Learned how to do pushups. I know, they're like the "go to" exercise, but for some reason I never learned how to do them. My arms are still well-defined from years of punching things, though. Anyway, I learned how to do pushups, and am now better at them than my husband. He's still pretty great, though. His abs are so strong, he can almost do V-Ups!
- Started learning Chinese (I now know enough to know when my Chinese husband is talking about me "behind my back", and am also able to say something about it. Bwahahahaha.)
- Paid off about half of my student loans and got rid of all my credit card debt. This is thanks in large part to my husband, who's taught me so much about this. My mom always said that education was far more important than money, and her mountains of debt should have warned me that her advice probably wasn't the best. I still place a high value on active learning, and financial education is something I've learned a lot of this year that I wish I'd known earlier.
- Learned how to express my emotions instead of bottling them up.
- Got my first paid voice acting gigs.
- Made my first money online (related to above).
- Got more involved in my church, as well as made a lot of new friends.
- Starting singing on stage in my church.
- Started playing cello in my church's orchestra.
- Did my first Astral Projection.
- Got pretty good at programming and interpreting my dreams, as well as having greater control and lucidity in them.
- Made meditation a regular practice.
Challenges for 2011:
- Make at least $5,000/month online, which also includes online voice acting.
- Lean down to 15% body fat. I want this woman's body, and I mean that in the most platonic way I possibly can.
- Master one-legged squats, one arm pull-ups, one arm pushups, V-Ups, one-arm handstand pushups, and stand-to-stand bridges.
- Become conversationally fluent and literate in Chinese.
- Pay back all loans.
- Draw pictures with colors.
- Become able to memorize large sums of information quickly and easily, including entire books.
- Have 100 Astral Projections under my belt within the next year.
- Finish and edit HBSOB (my novel) and submit it to Amazon's book contest Jan. 24th.
Hope everyone's excited for the new year! I'm particularly excited, since 11 happens to be my favorite number. I mean, just LOOK at how SYMMETRICAL it is! I mean when it just looks like two sticks, none of this "Woo, look at me, I look like a flag!" BS.
