The Number 1 Reason Why You Want To Include Numbers In Your Copy

What one thing do most of these posts have in common? The use of numbers in the titles.

Number create order in the mind. We are attracted to orderliness, for order is heaven's first law.

One note: stay away from using numbers in the area of $money$. Promise someone that they will make a specific amount of money and they usually expect you to send it to them with no effort on their part. This just seems to be the case because you attract people who are in business solely for the money, are greedy for money and want to get rich quickly with little or no effort on their part.

How often do you use numbers in your copy? Why do you feel the use of numbers creates an attractive force?

I’ve read that the most powerful numbers are 7, 9, 11, and 21; also avoid numbers ending with a 5 or 0, unless it’s being used in percentage off, for example 25% and 50% off.

I have a friend who's a copywriter and she always uses 7 or 9 at the end of her prices for that very reason.

I just got finished with Harlan Kilsteins NLP copy course, and one of the techniques is the use numbers.

It makes a lot of sense though. I havent used them in a thread title yet, but that is a great observation you made, I will have to try it out in my headlines and see if it produces the same results.

I liked it. Its a bit pricey, but I think once I have fully absorbed the information in it, it should increase conversions. At its very least it is just good for sentence structure and overall copy structure. Meaning that my sentences and paragraphs just read a lot better, even if there wasnt any NLP stuff going on.

But it is pricey, and it is 1 of 3. But you dont need to have done any of the others to get information from just one though.

    Good stuff guys.

I noted the numbers factor with blog posts and articles too. Posts with numbers in the title usually do well.
