Wealth is Where You are At

In American in 1847 a California man sold is ranch to run off looking for gold. The new owner, a Colonel Sutter, built a mill on the property and his little girl found gold right there in the stream.

Yet another example can be found in Pennsylvania where a farmer wanted to sell his farm and move to Canada to work in the oil industry. But his cousin wrote him back that he didn’t have any experience in the oil industry so he couldn’t use him. The farm then began to study the oil business with a passion.

After a time the famer was well educated in oil and his cousin offered him a job in Canada, so the farmer sold the farm and off he went.

The new owner ventured into the pasture to water the cattle when he noticed a plank the previous owner had placed across a stream for the purpose of a makeshift bridge. The plank over the years had diverted a ugly and smell scum to one side and from which the cattle would not drink.

What the plank had been diverting all those years was oil worth hundreds of millions of dollars. What the famer sold for only $833 dollars was worth millions.

In Massachusetts a young mam attended Yale and studied mines and mining. As a student he was paid $15 a week to help train other students who were behind in their classes and upon graduation was offered $45 a week to stay on as a professor.

But he decided to leave and returned home to his mother and convinced her to move to California to search for gold. But he never made it to California but stopped in Wisconsin working for a copper mining company for just $15 per week with the stipulation that he would also get a percentage of any mines he found.

Well he never found a mine and not much is known of him after that. What is known is that the person that purchased the place he sold was out digging potatoes and filled a large basket which as he was taking back to the house dragged against the stone wall at the very font of the house.

Where the basket had dragged the owner noticed a large block of silver. The student that knew so much about mines and mining completely missed the large amount of silver right there on his own property.

All this shows how we always look everywhere except where we are now. It is always greener on the other side but once we are there we wish we were back. Examine where you find yourself now, is there something you are missing? Take notice of everything because opportunities are everyplace, within as well as without.

The opportunity to get rich and be successful is here, now, with you, it is your responsibility to become rich, for yourself and those around you. The rich are not dependent, they create jobs, they sponsor research, and education. As a responsible person it is your duty to yourself and those around you to become rich for the betterment of yourself and those around you.

If you believe having money is wrong and that those that have it are dishonest then my friends that is the reason you have none! If all you wish to do is take from those that have to give to others that do not then you are a mere thief. Productive and responsible people pull their own weight, work hard and take care of themselves. If you find money offensive then that is the reason you do not have it.

Isn't that the truth? We are our own success or failure.
