Stop Paying Attention To What You Can't Do

Notice how we sometimes offer a ready-make list of excuses that explain away all the reasons why we can't do something?

Practice moving your attention to what you can do.

Let's say you're new to Internet Marketing and have no marketing budget. Instead of focusing on the idea you that can't afford paid marketing and explain any your failures, concentrate on the idea that you will become wildly successful with free marketing methods.

It doesn't matter that you can't use paid methods right now. You can use free methods, and if you plan to be successful with any venture I strongly suggest using at least 1 free advertising method to learn more about buyer psychology and to become more knowledgeable of your venture.

You can be handcuffed by circumstances or you can take control of them. It depends on where you choose to shift your attention, and the power to control where you devote your attention is in you.

    Yes, I can identify with this thread very closely. I started out thinking of all the limitations that will hinder me in internet marketing, instead of focusing on my strengths and how it can contribute to my success.

    So, now, I changed my mindset significantly by facing any situation, be it good or bad, with the question ,"How can this improve my life? How can I make use of this situation to become a better person?".

    From these questions I switched my mindset automatically to see problems as opportunities and to view failure as education.

    I started a personal challenge last month and when I looked at the 500 post goal for the month the first thing I said to myself was, I can’t do that it will be impossible to make 500 posts in 31 days. But I decided to do it and give it my best shot.

    After the first 3 days I knew I’d be able to do it without any problems at all. In fact I hit 500 posts in 18 days and hit 800 for the month. That little challenge showed me that we make thing hard for ourselves by saying it’s impossible before we even try.

    Good advice.

    There are tons of things I can't do. I have all kinds of obstacles and limitations.

    So what do I do? I do what I CAN do - even if that's not what others would do.

    Most are programmed to think about what they don't want or what isn't possible. Practice shifting your attention to what you can do and wonderful things will happen for you quickly.

      Yeah, I know. It's just that sometimes it's too hard to change focus especially when a loved one bashes your dreams and ambitions. I actually thought that it will not affect me because I've been practicing about shifting my focus and have become quite confident by it.

      But it just broke me down when my dreams were bashed. I guess I need a little more practice shifting, huh? Hehe.

        Sometimes to avoid having your dreams bashed you have to keep them to yourself. I know a lot of books say to put your goals out there so you will be held accountable, but if you are susceptible to insults and ridicule then it may be best to keep your goals and plans to yourself until you have what you want and those that would doubt you have to look at the hard truth, your success!
