What's Your Opinion of Internet Marketing?

Back in 2008, I absolutely fell in love with Internet Marketing. By profession, I am a Virtual Assistant and Graphic Designer but on the side I and an Internet Marketing addict and I am just curious about what you all think about it. I'm currently playing with the idea of going full time with it, but haven't made my decision yet.

What do you like or dislike about it?
Do you find it easy or hard?
Could you see yourself making a full time living with it?

How would you like to improve your strategies?

I guess in life, when you decide to preserve and stay on in your focus , you will reap your rewards in the end as long as you keep your faith on. It is just the same as your relationship and work!

    Many gd wishes!

Hey, nice to see another West Virginia resident I use to live on your side of the state now I live on the opposite side.

Here is my answers to your questions...

I like the interent business because I can do it anywhere I have internet access.I don't like to be tied to location or employer anymore.

I find it hard because it is so different than what I have done in the past. I was never interested in computers till the internet came to our area in the early 2000's so I had to learn basic computers first.

Yes, I can definitely see making a full time income. If doubt creeps in I only need to remind myself that I only need to sell 20 things per day at 10.00 a piece to make 200.00 per day. On the internet I have millions of people on the other side of my key board so why not!

How to improve...Get more organized and focus on the things that bring profit. I am serious enough about my business that I am gettingoutside help in this area. It makes all the difference.

    Have a great day!

You think like I do. I remind myself of the same thing during the times when I am lacking the motivation. Good to see that it works for someone else

It's a little bit hard, but if you have lot's of patience yo will find it very interesting business. Internet marketing ties together creative and technical aspects of the Internet, including: design, development, advertising, and sales.

Internet marketing is just like starting any other offline biz, except for the large overhead it costs to start an offline biz. But anyways it takes work and is not something that will happen overnight. But if I were going to start any type of business it would be online.

Very low start up costs and potentially a global market to sell to, make it very attractive. Just understand it's not going to be a walk in the park. Good Luck!

    Hi There!
    In answer to your questions:-

1 I enjoy the new challenges and skills you need to learn to succeed online.

2 Like all new things in life some of the skills are easy and some more difficult, its just about been focused and doing some thing daily and keeping discilplined.

3 I am 100% sure that there is a full time income to be made out of Internet Marketing.

There are 3 main skills to learn.
. Build a 1 page website or squeeze page
. Build a list (Give away a free product)
. Sell related products to your list either your own or a affiliate product.

4 Am always looking to improve my stratergies. I have found a mentor someone
who is already a success and following what they have done.

    Hope this helps

    Jamie

On a philosophical level, I'm not fond of a lot of what goes on in IM. It can be a very sleazy field. On a personal level, it's kind of a game. The psychology of it interests me greatly, because it's an exaggerated example of the basic psychology that motivates us all (or at least most of us). I don't like to study psychology exclusively from books. One needs to get involved in the midst of it, in the real world. One can learn a lot about what makes people tick at a fundamental level by observing the ways money flows in circles amongst IMers.

    Hello there,

Low start up costs, interesting work, no 'apparent' knowledge to noobies, competitors who are addicted to what they do (most of them reasonably intelligent)...... this all leads to high competition. If you want to make money you go where there is no competition because more competition=price wars.

Having said that, going where there is no competition generally means you have to do stuff that is not much fun. Just depends on what you want out of life

Love it. (but love OFFline related marketing too) I can leave my job if I want to and I would not have this choice without IM. Unless I hit the lotto LOL. P.S. if I could choose a dream j-o-b, I would be a firefighter. Just thought i'd throw that in there.

I think the most important part is if you really enjoy doing it. Seeing as you said you are an addict I would guess that you do. I have learned from experience that making your hobbies a profession can take all the fun out of what you I once enjoyed. Best of luck to you

Internet Marketing as the newbie knows it SUCKS.

It is a very hard business for most people and nobody should buy any kind of instant "kit" out there for sale.

However, there is profitable room for those who do their homework.

    Please be careful, people.

    Love,
    ep

I was considering Market Samurai which is a kit and being advertised and recommended for beginners; although I have no preconceived notion that

    1.
I like internet marketing because it is lucrative (As long as you know what you are doing of course!)

    2. I find it easier as time goes by. Initially if you do not have a plan on how to make money online it can be overwhelming. But once you are past the newbie stage it still can be difficult still, especially if you want to always do everything yourself.

I think once you learn how to outsource your website building, traffic creation etc, then things become much more easier.

    3. I think anyone can make a full time income from this as long as they stick to their monetization plan. If it is List building then be the best list builder out there! If it is building tons of Amazon niche sites then be the best at it. etc. etc.

    4. For me, I am trying to outsource more of my work!! Heehee

To me, Internet Marketing is another word for New Age Entrepreneur.

Because that is what internet marketers really truly are: entrepreneurs. With the amazing growth of technology, we can now do it from the comfort of our homes and still reach millions of people.

What I like the most about Internet Marketing is that if I fail, I won’t go bankrupt or lose my house or anything drastic. I’ll take some time to recover, learn from my mistakes, and get back on my feet.

I do not find Internet Marketing hard; however, it can be very time consuming. I do see myself making enough money so that I don’t have to work anymore, but I have too many other ambitions and dreams to just sit at home.

    What I Like About It?

The barrier of entry is low. Anyone can start with "nothing" and
    earn "something".

Technology has IMPROVED the speed at which people CAN make
    money with the internet.

You can recieve and apply information much faster than you could
wading through several books to find answers to specific problems
    you want to solve.

If you work hard enough you can make a small (or large) fortune.
A great alternative to finding a million+ to start a popular franchise
    business.

    What I Dislike About It?

The barrier of entry is TOO low. It's easy for anyone to associate
"ease of making money with" the "speed of internet...

The "glitz and glammour" IS an illusion that CAN be a reality, but
the reality does NOT support the illusion.

Grasping internet marketing is like ANY other business. You have
to LEARN how to market and sell. The average person "does not",
so the MAJORITY struggle with it.

Do You Find It Easy Or Hard?

And it's all relative. Some marketers can make a fortune with CPA
but struggled with affiliate marketing for years before success with
    CPA.

Some struggled with both CPA AND affiliate marketing ($30 - $100
mid-level commissions), but found MAJOR success with Direct Selling
($500 - $10,000+ commissions), and others made their fortune with
adsense (pennies to a few dimes on the dollar) and couldn't repeat
the success with a different business model.

So it's easy according to where you feel more comfortable and when
you ARE making money, than when you are not.

Personally, I know what works for me and I make good money. But I
very much dislike internet marketing because strategies that work
now QUICKLY become outdated -- sooner or later.

...very little staying power with 95% of the "so-called" methods and
tricks out there. Just look at the WSO section. Methods "come and
    go" all the time.

People are making good money with Fiverr NOW...

People are making good money with CPA NOW...

People are making good money flipping websites on flippa NOW...

People are making good money on Ebay NOW...

People are making good money with Ezine Articles NOW...

but if you look at the common link between MOST of the methods
out there thet ARE working, they all DEPEND on a BIGGER entity
    for it "too work".

Every single one of those business models RELY TOO HEAVILY on
another business in MAJORITY control to work.

Look at google, ebay, flippa, CPA, EzineArticle slaps...they happen
and ALWAYS without warning. Why? Because THEY call the shots.

I've seen hundreds of strategies that WORKED become obsolete in
a matter of a few weeks or months because of a "slight" change in
    rules.

The fustration comes when you work for weeks to LEARN how to do
it, make money for a few months and suddenly in a blink of an eye
the skill you spent time and money on to master doesn't "matter any
    more".

The ONLY TRUE business model IS "Building A List". It's the ONLY
model that works LONG-TERM if you're going to do internet marketing.

Could You See Yourself Making A Full-Time Living With It?

No. But it's a personal thing rather than a statement. You have to
be wired to keep up with so many changes and have your hands in
many different baskets. I have ADD. And I PERFER doing business
where the changes are FAR less frequent.

I considered doing IM full-time, but that would be a lot less "hands
    off" than I would like.

This is NOT a bash on Internet Marketing. The internet is what allowed
me to understand and find what I DO want quicker than any other way
    I know possible.

I credit IM with my success even though my success isn't directly
related to it. Of course, I'm here at a IM forum so my love and heart
is still here -- as I still learn new things everyday.

Internet marketing is just that Marketing products and or services online.

Who your target audience is depends on the niche you enter.
There is a lot of malarky online that people perpetrate simply because they figure they are anonymous or no one will find out. Some of the tactics used are downright criminal.

Bringing your product online should be looked at the same as if you were to bring it to the general public offline.

You want not just a customer for one time who you can make a quick buck off of. You want repeat customer evangelists who cannot help but tell others about your product or service because it did or offers exactly what it says it does and is truly beneficial.

You are going to have evangelists one way or the other they will either spread the word your products are crap and to stay away or they will be the opposite. Just like when a friend asks "hey what's a good book on romance, horror, mystery etc..

I wish people could get how crucial integrity is online but alas it seems as long as the buck comes in the customer is left out.
Online or offline the customer should be respected and products should do what they say they do.

Even in the midst of the sharks I love being online
    Thanks
    -Will
