Online success isn't about what you can't do, but what you will do.

It never fails. You host a call or training share 10 awesome ideas and someone says, "But you can't do that in every niche."

What?

How would you know? You've never tried it. You don't know if it works or not.

Like Bubba says, "Can't never could."

Now Bubba ain't smart, but I think he might have that right there figured out.

Here are some hints to help you DO if you struggle with that sorta thing...

Close your trap.

Quit talking about what you're going to do. Take some action. Like our crazy friend Tommy Cruise said in Knight and Day, "Some day. It's code for never."

Stop Dreaming.

Yep, stop dreaming. Get your head out of the clouds and get your hands on the plow.

Look Over Here

Most folks have mastered excuse finding. Everywhere they look there's a reason something doesn't work or won't go right or...

Hey! Look over here! There's a land of no excuses where acting on advice actually works. It's crazy, but if you stop analyzing and just move out, wild stuff happens. Websites and products magically appear. Your list begins to grow. Over time your collective effort brings results. Weird, huh?

Anything going on in your head is hypothetical. Taking action makes it literal. Look for ways to MAKE things work.

Peace,
Paul

#can’t…”
  • I don't focus on the people who say they "Can't" nor do I focus on those who say they "Can."

I focus on the people who say "Maybe" because those people I can convert with a sales page. They people saying "Can" are already buying.

Funny you should bring this up... just had a conversation with someone who gave me a list of "I can't" reasons. He's currently unemployed and I'm still scratching my head, trying to figure out why he's not even willing to TRY to make money freelancing.

I have what is perhaps an unorthodox take on the old "winners never quit" adage, and that is that there are plenty of people who never quit but still aren't winners - it's just that nobody ever talks about them. But one thing winners DO have is that they TRY (and they know when to quit).

As Henry Ford said 'Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right'

Now, I always thought the quote was 'you're *probably* right' - quite a difference, but it gets the point across to people.

People reach for the 'I can't...' button as a safety blanket, because it's a quick way of avoiding any risk taking. It's a sign of low self belief, which is a symptom of poor education.

I totally agree and even though I am generally positive there are times when we all start to question, so its important to have posts like this to remind ourselves that WE CAN do it - its just a matter of taking ACTION

"Yep, stop dreaming. Get your head out of the clouds and get your hands on the plow."

That saying really stood out to me. Makes a lot of sense. I believe that long term goals are good to have and if a long term goal seems like dreaming at the current time; so be it. But the short term goals have to point in the direction of the long term goals that you may be trying to eventually reach!

These steps will not complete by themselves and you must get to work on them with diligent and persistent ideals.

If you have a lot of excuses then it is possible for you to become successful, be positive, omit those I can't and replace with "I can".

When I hear people say 'I can't' as a knee jerk reaction, it's not always an appropriate time to go into the details of why they are are saying it, i.e. self esteem, education etc, but here's how I like to respond.

I say 'what makes you say that?'
The response most of the time is one word - 'because'

That's another sign of poor education amongst other things!

      Then I ask 'because what?'
The response most of the time is 'I don't know'

I then say 'there you go then!' and leave it at that.

Very quick exchange, but it does allow me to plant ideas and suggestions into their head.

Someone (me) has taken the time to show an interest, and question them, so maybe they will do it themselves, and think 'maybe I can'.

I'm amazed how many times I can predict the 2 responses too!

I can't, usually means you wont. It bothers me when people focus on the stuff they can't do, instead of what they can do. If they learn they can try to do certain things, they might actually be able to do them.
