Hi All,

Time management is tough, especially when 9-5(if still have), friends, family, and spouses are always wanting your time.

But the trick is to learning to say No in a way that won't hurt their feelings. Let them know that your working on a project and you need to get it done. Be serious about it.

If your serious about making money, you will have to give a few things up. Like TV shows, going out every night, etc. It may seem hard at first but if you reserve time for socializing youll be fine.

When I first started I thought I would just fill up my down time or when nothing seemed to be going on with IM, but that didn't work.

You need to have actually time reserved for IM.

As a bonus, as soon as the IM clock starts, know what your going to be doing before you sit down, to save even more time.

Hi guys. My first post here, hope it will be useful for anyone...

When it comes to time management, pomodoro technique helps me to work efficiently. In short, it's working 25 minutes and resting 5 minutes. Before starting I plan how much "tomatoes"(25 min. working periods) some particular task will take only then do the task. Each period is 25 minutes of dedicated work without any distraction(no forums, socials, wc, etc.). Works great for me.

Sometimes you have to tell others that you have a "working weekend" underway, too, if they invite you to eat out, go to movies, etc. So don't be afraid to let people know you are working.

I have a normal job and a partner at home. I try to do my job very efficiently, and concentrate on it 100% but after a hour of this kind of work my mind just screams.

The underlying idea of this post is spot on. That one needs priorities for anything to move forward.

I always say knowing what you really want is the key. We spend a lot of time undoing what we have done becuase we are not sure.

    Great stuff, echin.
The average adult watches around 70 hours of TV
every week. Now we know why it's called the boob
tube-the more we watch it the more a boob it makes
    of us!

What I try to do is to work for around 33-35 minutes,
take a little 5-15 minute break (keeps the juices flowing,
but not to overflowing), then hit it again.

May all who read this post make $1,000,000 this year!

Solve your Problems in the Direction Of your Goals

IF you have clearly defined and documented (written) goals...time management becomes an almost moot point.

IF you aren't making the time, then re examine your goals

IF you have goals, you can identify and remove the problems standing in your way

Wake up earlier! But on the otherhand, dont go to bed later! If you get the sleep you need, then the time that you do have will be more efficient.

A major reason why people would waste a lot of time is that they ignore the fact that time is limited. They lose the pressure that would naturally propel them to work at their own pace.

In order for this to be corrected, set time limits for each given task. Give yourself a healthy number of minutes to finish a task, rather than give yourself the whole day for it and later complain about not getting things done.

So true! I try to work at least 45 minutes every morning, before hitting office.

I became an early riser many years ago - yet I didn't go to sleep early enough. I had problems of concentrating, remembering stuff or just with creativity. However, things are now getting better and I can see the changes for the better in my life.

You can take more out of your free time when you get enough sleep.

Yeah, time management is always hard. Always know that time is passing by every second. So it's very important that you do the most important things first. So every day it would be advisable to ask your self "What is the most important thing that i need to spend (input hours) doing? Before I spend(input hours) doing that other thing or spend(input hours) doing that other thing."

    Good luck.

The fact of the matter is implementing a TM system also has risks as there is a cost in time to do so. People can get romanced by the promises of the latest gadget or system only to see lots of time wasted with it. You should try to first figure out the time management issue you have and then implement a simple solution to fix that issue. For example if you are forgetful use a simple notebook to write things down, loosing things, create simple filing or tickler system. This approach works better than trying to implement something complicated like GTD if you do not need all of it. Good luck.

Ah! Time Management! People really don't pay much attention to this subject.
It's an important subject that doesn't get enough credit.

I've read and listened to a few pieces of advice on this and what I got out of it
    were 2 main things...
    1. Communication
    2. Scheduling

Communicating with friends, family, etc. and letting them know that your schedule
is important to you success will definitely help.
It's vital to give them your schedule. Focus is key.
Focusing on your work is not as important as focusing on your loved ones.
    Keep that in mind.
Hope that gives a little more insight.

I always have my planner with me. I write the things that needs to be done and all the meetings I have to attend to. Having a planner and making a list always helps me manage my time. We have to be organized to be able to manage our time wisely.
